I have no idea who this Madden guy is and why he's being pushed so hard. Is he that good of an actor? I don't watch GOT, but most of their actors kinda failed to establish themselves outside that series

It’s not an all-star cast, save for Jolie. 

Yet neither were the Guardians cast and look at some of them now. 

The star is the ‘Marvel Studios’ logo above the title. That’s all my friends care about. They’d never watch a movie with that cast in otherwise, which sort of says it all. Sign of the times sadly.

But that’s a long way to go without successful or at least acclaimed projects in Hollywood. If Maleficent 2 somehow does decently and she’s in this it’ll definitely be a comeback however.

Richard Madden isn’t a star either. A recognizable name for some, sure. But he struggled to find his footing ever since he left GOT. It’s been more than half a decade and his resume is far from impressive. Not someone you’d expect to be filling any seats that’s for sure.

Yeah, Madden's definitely more famous in Britain for Bodyguard than Game of Thrones now. That was a smash hit over here.

 

Personally I can take or leave him but I'm not at all surprised Hollywood's taken notice.
