Edge of Tomorrow yes

Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants I wouldn’t count

All You Need Is Kill is a light novel (basically a novella with some illustrations) , not manga - the manga came after - released the same year as the movie

Quote

All You Need Is Kill (Japanese: オール・ユー・ニード・イズ・キル Hepburn: Ōru Yū Nīdo Izu Kiru) is a Japanese science fiction light novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka with illustrations by Yoshitoshi ABe. The novel was Sakurazaka's breakthrough science fiction novel, earning wide praise from fellow novelists including Yasutaka Tsutsui and Chōhei Kanbayashi and was entered in contention for the Seiun Awards. The book was published in Japanese by Shueisha under their Super Dash Bunko imprint in December 2004, and was later released in English by Viz Media under their Haikasoru imprint. All You Need Is Kill follows a soldier named Keiji Kiriya, who, after dying in a battle with extraterrestrials, is caught in a time loop that makes him live the same day repeatedly, allowing Kiriya to improve his fighting skills.

A manga adaptation, written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine between January and May 2014 and was also published by Viz Media in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In November 2014, the Viz translation was released in a collected edition that included the entire series. A graphic novel adaptation was released in North America in May 2014. A film adaptation from director Doug Liman starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, titled Edge of Tomorrow, was released on May 30, 2014. The English-language film tie-in edition of the novel also uses this title.

I think people should clarify if they're voting for the 1995 animated movie Ghost in the Shell, or the live-action remake.

I know people laugh reacted to this, but it’s a good point.

I get lists all of the time that include films you might be surprised by.  Clarifying which version of a movie you mean by giving the year (even if it seems silly) helps me out a lot.

I don't really have a top 30, only a few rise above mediocre for me.

My top 5 would probably be.....

1- Wonder Woman

2- The Dark Night.

3- Iron Man

4- Spider Man

5- Spider Man 2

6- Deadpool.

Updated, added Deadpool.

8 first place votes for The Dark Knight so far from reading this thread. #1 spot locked?

Of course it's locked. It was locked from the moment this thread was created. Have you seen the size of the Nolanboner this forum has? They may not be as attention-seeking as the Cameron fans, but what they lack in volume, they make up for in voting overhyped Nolan and Nolan-adjacent movies to the Number 1 spot in Best of Year lists.

I mean, Jesus, The Dark Knight Rises won our 2012 list... twice!

This link includes all the movies based on comic books, worth a check to see if you missed any. I added a few movies to my list that I didnt know were based on comic books.

I'm not a Nolan loonie by any stretch and The dark Knight is easily the best comic book movie of all time in my opinion. There are other really really really good ones but for me The dark Knight is just a step above.
