wildphantom
Don't forget Zootopia had Saturday/Sunday previews last weekend that will be added on.

Experts around here will interpretate this opening better. $50m is very difficult with todays low exchange rates. £30m, which is a big success for an animated film, is only $42m now.
John Marston
Damn that's huge. I guess Cavill being British has something to do with it

I really liked that movie. It opening so close to Rogue Nation probably didn't help it though.
Jonwo
According to Variety, BvS did $21.9m which translate roughly to £15.5m.
Heretic
Today must have dropped quite a lot due to Easter. Cinemas did look much emptier. Still, a fantastic opening. Will top £18m for 4 day though.
Olive
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice lands with estimated £15.2m in the UK. Set to be biggest Fri-Sun result for a superhero film. — Ian Sandwell (@ian_sandwell) March 27, 2016
Heretic
£5.3m ($7.5m) for Zootropolis with previews. Solid opening, will do very well over the school holidays. $40m+ is a possibility. Edited March 27, 2016 by Heretic
Quigley
If Zootropolis reaches £20-21M by the end of the holidays, it will be in good shape to reach the £30M mark by the end of its run. I think that's doable.

The Dark Alfred
Monday is going to be bigger than Sunday, £20m 4-day OW is happening. Huge success for DC.

Heretic
Yeah, today is looking really busy, more so than yesterday. For Zootropolis too. Doubt BvS hits £20m 4 day though, that would requite £4.8m today, which is massive, even for a bank holiday. Around £19m would be a fantastic number. Purple Minion
Over-estimated? @ian_sandwell looks like this has been overestimated a little. @ian_sandwell looks like it hasn't beaten Age of Ultron.

That would be a massive over-estimation. AoU did £14.4m 3 day. If that's the case, that's a pretty poor weekend result for BvS considering it had an OD over £6m. Maybe a combination of bad reviews and Easter Day. Would be interesting to see a daily breakdown... Perhaps between £17-18m 4 day then. Deadpool is heading for around £38m, it seems BvS may end up very close to that mark, who would have thought? SchumacherFTW
Today is looking gigantic at my cinema. As I walked out, BVS, Zootropolis and Greek Wedding had sell outs, and my screening of Eddie the Eagle at 1530 is going the same way. Heretic
Zootropolis is looking stronger than BvS right now. The gap will probably only widen during Easter holidays as Zootropolis capitalizes on the family audience.
aliadiere29
Yeah..... my local cinema is absolutely packed as well. Cloverfield had a near sellout.... the 2d Batman v Superman showing for 3:45pm is already 40% sold out, so I'd imagine it will be sold by then.
