2nd weekend included Christmas Day when all cinemas were closed.

Ah yes, of course. Looking at the figures it looks like a dramatic and huge 2nd week collapse.

Eaxctly this!

So we can see that TFA absolutely smashed it here in the UK and did much better than the USA. So TFA is the equivalent of an $1.2B movie in the US. Unimaginable!

Tbh UK made 1.3B pound last year and DOM only 11B so the 10x multiplier is just very flawed in many ways. I don't buy this at all. I do agree with the times 8, seems alot more reasonable.

The UK box office is on fire! 2nd biggest Q1 of the century.

As for BatB... $54.3M cume/$1.9M Wed per Deadline. Still pulling in very strong weekdays even with schools still in. As of Thursday, I imagine it's at about £44.5m. Should top £50m on Sunday, and schools break up for two weeks of holidays today, so weekdays are going to remain very strong. Can see it banking another £5m or so next week for a total in the high 50s after next weekend. The weekend after is Easter, so essentially a 4-day weekend, where BatB will again get a big boost, even with the opening of Fast 8. Looks like £75-80m is the target right now, good for 6th of all time. Titanic is next with £80.3m if it wants the 5th spot.

Boss Baby has previews this weekend and all next week before it's official opening on Friday. It's pre-sales are looking pretty good, it's full 6 days of previews + OW will be pretty big, maybe near £10m.

As for Smurfs, it looks set to be obliterated by BatB and Boss Baby.

Ghost in the Shell will probably flop. Even with a solid opening it's likely to drop very quickly afterwards.

BatB is doing well, but Boss Baby looks like it's taking some of its audience. Also, the weather is really nice again here so cinemas aren't so busy.

The Boss Baby to a lesser extent Smurfs and BATB have Easter weekdays so it's not a huge issue.

It's weird that apart from Going in Style, there's no big release next weekend, I'm guessing no one wants to compete with Fast 8 the week after. The weekend after Fast 8 is pretty poor as well

Did GITS open there yet? Just trying to see how other audiences have reacted to it lol

Batb after the weekend at $64m.

That means it's passed £50m, around £51m, and right on target. 17 days to pass the mega-blockbuster milestone, without any school holidays.

£2.2m for GitS. Could've been worse, but it'll drop fast, $10m max.

£51.5m BatB from Ian Sandwell.

Still pretty good! It'll be interesting to see what type of legs it has.

As expected, Smurfs flopped hard. $1.8m, £1.4m. Not even holidays can save this one.

Okay for GITS, I imagine it'll have bad legs, Smurfs is horrific considering it had previews too.

I'm guessing we won't find out what Boss Baby did until next week when it gets number 1 due to its nine day opening.
