Heretic
Lion King is doing insane business tonight. Like Avengers level. Expect a huge opening.

Heretic
Friday’s key openers were led by the UK’s $6.5M which is the biggest launch day for a Disney-branded live-action film ever. It’s the 2nd highest opening day of 2019 behind only Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. $6.5m is about £5.2m. Probably sets it up for an opening weekend of around £17m. Most schools have broken up for summer now so summer weekdays will set in.
Heretic
The fact it’s summer holidays will probably limit how high this can go as kids can just go now during the week. Even though BatB has an OD over £1m below, I can’t see TLK topping its £19.7m OW. Still a fantastic opening though.
Jonwo
£15.9m OW which is great although lower than Beauty and the Beast. Does suggest Saturday and Sunday were flat or only had modest increases.

It probably won’t reach the heights of BatB though. Could be a close one between TLK and TS4 (which looks set to get to around the £55m mark). wildphantom
Let’s hope TS4 wins that battle! But yeah, no denying a tremendous opening for Lion King
Heretic
Lion King significantly up from estimates again, £16.7m opening. TS4 had a fantastic 29% drop and is at £47.3m. Just a note, there is a heatwave this week with temps possibly breaking the all time record here. Not sure if this will impact the BO in a good or bad way as people may actually want to escape the heat. Pray for me and my commute on the non-air conditioned tube. 😓

It was bad enough on the tube last week.

Temps are forecast to potentially get up to 38c this week (100f), and temps on the tube are much higher than that. It’s actually disgusting down there.

The subway stations in NY are so hot in the summer that it's such a relief to get into the air-conditioned cars once they arrive. I can't imagine having to endure an entire commute like that. Krissykins
Spider Man under Toy Story, that was quick. Great weekend! It’s absolutely roasting here today. Nothing out that I fancy seeing anyway.

Hobbs and Shaw will do well but probably £4-5m OW tops, I think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood could do solid business when that comes out in three weeks.
