Always nice to see live events make it into the top 10 box office but still... that guy has like some magic powers. Always find it amusing when people walk out, especially when they have just bought £20 of popcorn and nachos. I mean up to you if you don't want to watch the film but PLEASE LEAVE AT THE BBFC LOGO. hoards of people walked out in Blinded By The Light for the first several minutes of the film and it rather ruins the start. I've not liked every single of the movies screened, but to walk out after the first couple of minutes, or as soon as a title comes up is silly to me. Especially if it's because you had certain expectations. Like Deadpool when it was Triple 9, or Into The Heart of the Sea instead of The Force Awakens... Those were NEVER going to happen. Cineworld isn't going to get a bloody exclusive preview of friggin Endgame or something, two weeks before release, to be viewed quite wide. It's always going to be a smaller movie or something hat's already opened in the States/played festivals or something. I remember people walking out of Green Book! You hear a collective moan. People thought Blinded by the Light would be the Lion King... fkin ridiculous. The Star Wars one was funny, even an idiot would know you're not gonna see Star Wars before the rest of the world. That being said, a lot of people aren't as clued up and don't know that it's opened in the US already, and Cineworld HAS put on some seriously big films, so I can understand why the less-informed people could think they are gonna get early access to something big. And i do understand why some people leave. If popping into the cinema to see if it's a film you want to see or not, if thats not inconvenient to you (you live near the cinema and its just 15 minutes out of your evening) then fair enough. Also - Unlimited (not secret) screenings have had some proper decent releases early before America. Some films like Green Book dont really need to be watched in an uncomfortable cinema though, of mine turned out to be green book I'd leave to. The film was great but it's the sort of film I'd rather watch on my sofa. Hahaha, amazing. I worked in a cinema that had a refund policy if you leave the secret screening in the first 10 minutes which I think was far too generous... There's only been like 1 film coming out a week in my local cinema at least, I guess studios were just afraid of Lion King. I have no intention of watching Lion King but yesterday I wanted to go to the cinema but there was nothing else new out. Very almost booked the ticket. This weekend has blinded by the light but i've already seen it. And a teen romance +that awful looking racing in the rain film.
