Heretic
Around £30m is where the other Spidermans landed in the UK, so a number near that would be great for TASM.Ice Age 3 had only 2 days of previews, but then made £6m on the 3 day weekend. IA4 has had 4, so it's 3 day weekend won't be as big as that, but it should manage at least £4m I think with an extra day.
PhilipJ2001
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Ice Age 3 had any previews?
SchumacherFTW
It opened on the wednesday, same as in the US.
JCS
Sony has announced £11.1m UK opening for Amazing Spider-Man. I believe Fri-Sun portion is around £6.7m. Not too shabby! Not to shabby indeed, great weekend for TASM in £ as well as $.
Heretic
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Ice Age 3 had any previews? Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs stormed to the top of the UK box-office chart with a debut haul of £7.64m, including £1.79m in Wednesday/Thursday previews. JCS
Decent numbers for a weekend finally!IA4 still not including previews so looks low.Dear me, Katy Perry: Part of Me bombed!
Jonwo
Ice Age had a good drop considering it was against Spider-Man, including previews, it will have a £8-9m OW when it's released on Friday. Both MIB3 and Prometheus have had fantastic runs as did Snow White.
Heretic
I think we can expect around £11.5-12m for the full opening, including Scotland aswell.MIB still in the top 5! It's had incredible legs. Looks like it'll end around $34-35m.Prometheus looks to hit £25m aswell, and it may just have enough steam left for $40m.Snow White will end with around $25m. Not too shabby.Spider-man I think should be on track for around $45m, and Ice Age about the same. Maybe $50m depending on how strong legs are. All in all, this summer has been great so far, and with TDKR around the corner as a possible $80-90m grosser, it's going to get better. baumer
Thanks. What do you guys think IA4 will end with, considering the 3rd did 57 mill?
Heretic
It'll likely fall short, although it's opening bigger. It faces TASM and TDKR though, and then the olympics, The Lorax and Brave, so it's legs probably won't be as strong. Could reach $50m maybe.

The Dark Alfred
I'm sorry guys, I know that it's not a bad number for TASM compared to some other markets, but the expectations must have been very low if that's considered good. That's a poor number for TASM.
RthDeadWov
WB aren't allowing them because they think the american audience will be spoiled...It's quite pathetic. But, Australia get it a day before America...and they still have midnights. Doesn't really make sense, but there you have it.To add fuel to the fire, NZ 2 hours ahead of East coast Aus is able to screen TDKR at 9pm Wed 18/7 (7pm in Sydney)so 5 hours before the midnights in Aus
DeeCee
Where is it screening at 9pm on Wednesday in New Zealand? Is it only 1 theatre? Event and Hoyts NZ all seem to just have midnights.
RthDeadWov
Might be right its Definetly at Imax 9p the others may be TDK, but even if so TDKR midnight at others is 2 hours before Aus
DeeCee
Queen St IMAX in Auckland has TDK at 9pm followed by TDKR at midnight. Still, those kiwi's get it 2 hours earlier.
