So far it’s sold 40 seats in a 92 seater, that’s not bad actually. Went to see Barbarian earlier and it rocked. Could done much better here if they’d advertised it. That “Prey for the Devil” trailer is an easy sell so I’m not surprised to see it open well. Amazing for Smile, only horror of 2022 to break £10m. Sad to see Bros not even make the top 10. My local is selling Bros tickets for £5.99, I think they could sense the underperformance coming unfortunately. I still need to see Smile, the trailer looked generic as hell and put me off it, but I keep seeing raves so I’m intrigued to check it out. Looks like a true WOM hit.

WayneBorg
MINIONS - £46.5 Not only is Minions: The Rise Of Gru still in cinemas after a lengthy 18 weekends – it increased its takings by 0.9%, with £97,611 bringing it to a hefty £46.5m cume. It will likely finish just shy of the £47.8m of 2015’s Minions – an excellent performance on the sequel for Universal. SCREEN

Also wonderful to see it on the big screen. Will be seeing Barbarian tomorrow night which has been plopped on the smallest screen (which is fair since it didn't look it was selling that many seats over the weekend). I would have thought Prey for the Devil would have attracted the teen horror crowd looking for Halloween scares though.
The Dark Alfred
I did the Thing/Barbarian double bill and it was a treat. Looks like Triangle of Sadness will crack 1m with ease, Decision To Leave might get there, too. Banshees also doing great. Good to see indies performing well across the board. Do you know if Triangle of Sadness is planning to expand? Only one of my four locals is showing it (the furthest away one) and it’s only on once a day. Heretic
Expectations for BP2? Pre-sales looking very strong around me but in London especially this will obviously do huge numbers, so maybe that is skewing expectations. Difficult to compare to BP as that had a 6 day opening in February 2018. £17.7m 6 day, £10.5m Fri-Sun with a £2.7m OD. I expect OD will be near £5m mark and perhaps around £14-15m 3 day.
