Heretic
Very good opening for AM3 considering its performance elsewhere. Also great for PIB2 increasing from last weekend, school holidays gave it a big boost. Looks like it could make a run for £30m. Avatar likely going to miss £80m by a couple of million, so will have to settle for 11th of all time (10th of all time is Titanic £80.3m). Hasn't she sailed a bit higher than that with the re-release, or had she not hit £80m yet

SchumacherFTW
Just been having a look at some Demon Slayer pre-sales, I'm confident enough to call that it'll be number 1 on March 1st, could make the weekend a good battle between it and Creed. 1

Krissykins
Tickets for Cocaine Bear evening showings basically tripled overnight. Could benefit from on-the-day bookings/walk ups.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the weekend being much of a battle, anime films normally sink like a stone after the initial fan rush on opening day. I know Demon Slayer is bigger than the usual anime right now, but I can’t see it competing with Creed. 4 hours ago, Krissykins said: Tickets for Cocaine Bear evening showings basically tripled overnight. My local initially put on an extra showing at 8:20 when their main 8:50 showing started to sell out, and then about 2 days ago they ditched the 8:20 and gave the screen to Luther! Seems to have backfired quite badly on them. I hope the 5 people in the 8:20 Luther buy a LOT of popcorn!

Ipickthiswhiterose
I have never seen my local as busy for a non blockbuster (blockbuster by UK standards so including musicals and family films) as the showing of Cocaine Bear I was in. Lots of people just clearly hankering for silly fun. I did a double bill with What's Love Got To Do With It. Which was also very busy (and I also enjoyed). Though my friend and I were 2 of the only 4 men in the theatre and 2 of the only 6 white people.
The Dark Alfred
Yea, expect CB to beat WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT handily, despite that being British, having star power and playing in more cinemas. Just a better comedy proposition really. Looks silly fun. Will check it out tomorrow. I can totally see it opening close to £2m. Overall looking like a decent weekend, potentially 4 films over £1m. Hopefully, BROKER (another Korean gem) will crack the top 10. Edited February 25, 2023 by The Dark Alfred

Boxofficerules
Remember years ago when companies used to open their movies on a Saturday and call Sat-Thurs previews then have a big opening weekend followed by a massive drop.
