Spoke to Cineworld earlier and there are no evening PLF’s for Little Mermaid currently because Fast X is keeping most of them. Whew, that’s a bad move.

4DX, 3D and 2D IMAX are only during the day and very late night. The 7pm & 8pm showings are staying with Fast X.

They did say they’ll see what the opening weekend for Fast X is like and they can change their mind, they’ll know before the 22nd.

They’ve updated and taken the 13.10 IMAX off Little Mermaid and given it back to Fast X this weekend too.

What is the OW expectations for Mermaid. 5m or 10m range?

Probably nearer £5m tbh, but it is another bank holiday weekend so all schools are off on Monday.

However, another sunny weekend forecast so might impact BO.

Cruella £1.5m at #3 (pandemic)

Maleficent £3.8m

Cinderella £3.8m

Jungle Book £9.9m

Beauty and the Beast £19.7m

Maleficent 2 £3.3m

Aladdin £5.7m

The Lion King £16.7m

I’ll guess a £4.5m 3 day for Little Mermaid.

I expect closer to ALADDIN numbers. A bit higher.

Aladdin had a five day opening IIRC so it won't be a like for like comparison. I think with it being the first family film in a while and female skewing will help it.

The Flash release date being moved up has meant that all the printed posters which are already up are incorrect, I assume WB will pay to have them replaced.

Apparently it’s going to be the hottest weekend of the year so far, so expect it to be deflated a bit. I’d say under Aladdin.

Anecdotally, around me it’s looking very quiet on the Saturday. IMAX is a ghost town, I don’t know why they even bothered.

Families here really aren’t paying for IMAX. At all.

Happened with Mario and it’s happening again here.

It's a big price jump for IMAX here, for a family it's more than the equivalent of an extra ticket which is pretty crazy

So looks like maybe £5.5m opening, with bank holiday Monday should top £7m and it’s school holidays this upcoming week so should have good weekdays.

Weather is looking very good for the foreseeable though so will impact BO for sure.
