Yeah. But actually, they've started to change it a bit. Only for some films though. For TASM2, BOM only recorded the 3 day weekend, and included the previews on Wednesday and Thursday in the running total, which is how it should be.

It's stupid the way the UK chart handles previews.

I think the whole business of previews has gotten a bit ridiculous, even Charles Gant and Mark Kermode have noted it, I hope that it'll lead to changes in reporting where only the Friday-Sunday numbers are counted and any previews are included in the running total rather than the opening weekend, Edited by Jonwo

Godzilla on Thursday, what are people thinking?

Godzilla '98 made £16m, so obviously it's pretty popular over here. Today that would adjust to probably £25m, or more. 4 day opening of £7-8m ($12-13.5m) is possible imo.

£7-8m is sequel territory, think £5-6m four days,

ST09 did £5.95m 4 day with only 7 IMAX screens to boost the gross. We now have over 20 IMAX screens and 3D as well, not to mention the hugely increased number of digital screens allowing more screenings on average per cinema now. I definitely see £7m.

Exactly.  Just put PR for preview and include it in that weekend.  That's how it's treated here.  As an example, Bad Neighbours.
