SchumacherFTW
Kingsman was doing well for me earlier, about 60/70% capacity for the 2pm show. Crowd really dug it. Vaughn's quirkier films really seem to give great crowd experiences (Kick-ass is still the most fun I've ever had in a cinema).
Dan9
Big Hero 6 was almost full at my showing today which was amazing considering it was a 6:30pm screening and the evenings are always usually way quieter. Thanks for preview screenings it was my third time seeing it and I love it more each time, really hope it takes off over half term. Tempted to see it again tomorrow.
Heretic
Saw Big Hero 6 at 7pm. Was about half full, loved it. Made me choke.
Jonwo
Big Hero 6 has the advantage of being the only 3D film out at the moment as Shaun the Sheep isn't in 3D so it should have a successful run, the next 3D films will be Home in about a month and a half then Spongebob. Heretic
Fifty Shades pre-sales are insane. Wonder what it's OD will be. I reckon could top £3m, probably £4m on Valentines day. OW could be near £10m, which surely would be biggest for 18 rated film. Edited February 1, 2015 by Heretic

It'll probably be similar to the Twilight films which were very frontloaded.

Olive
Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell 18m18 minutes ago Big Hero 6 lands with chart-topping (according to Disney) UK debut of around £4.5m, including previews from one-off day last month.
Heretic
Expected over £5m, but that's a good opening, considering it only had one day of previews compares to two for most animated films nowadays. Half term in 2 weeks will give it a big boost.
Wezzo
Box Office Mojo report Kingsman landing only $100k behind BH6 here, so £4.3m-4.4m sounds possible. Which is a great result, and actually makes Kingsman #1 for Fri-Sun only.
alisson23
In the UK, the Fox title opened just behind Big Hero 6 with $6.7M from 950 locations. Great for Kingsman!
SchumacherFTW
Fucking excellent launch for Kingsman! That's at least 50% bigger than Kick-ass!

Olive
Disney’s latest animation lands with $6.45m (£4.295m), including previews; Fox’s adaptation bows just behind with $6.37m (£4.24m), including previews, and posts Matthew Vaughn’s best-ever Fri-Sun tally in process. http://www.screendaily.com/news/big-hero-6-edges-out-kingsman-in-uk/5082552.article?blocktitle=LATEST-FILM-NEWS-HEADLINES&contentID=42422
Dan9
So BH6 was still the #1 Fri-Sun. Any guesses on how Jupiter Asending will fare? Can't imagine it'll be great considering not even Guardians was a runaway success like it was the US.

I really want to try it but I'm not going all the way up there for it.
