PhilipJ2001
I would. We're full tonight and tomorrow but it falls off a cliff after that as far as the presales go
Heretic
Valentine's Day will inevitably be big for it.
PhilipJ2001
Yes but as big as opening night? I'd be happy to be proved wrong but I can't see it happening

The first one actually had a decent multiplier, which I don't see happening for this one.

There's too much competition for any sort of legs, I won't be surprised if Lego Batman and Sing do better numbers than Fifty Shades during the week. It's not even a question, they definitely will with half term holidays.

Krissykins
Fifty Shades was quiet at my local cinema last night. Only sold out the small rooms.
Heretic
Yeah, the show starting in 10 minutes at my local isn't even half full. I reckon with previews added on Lego Batman will be number 1 this weekend.
wildphantom
Shades - $4 million Friday according to deadline. It's doing really well.

Heretic
That's a good OD, but I don't imagine it'll do much more than a 2x internal multiplier for the weekend.

My local big cinema was honestly very, very quiet.

Can someone tell us how many tickets it sold? Or if you don't know specifically, what is the avg ticket price in the UK?

wildphantom
Batman did $9.3 million in second, including previews. So Shades has done it. Pretty impressive considering the two days less play and no 3D/IMAX
wildphantom
Shades £7.8 million Batman £7.5 million. Photo finish by the looks! Could swap
wildphantom
Original Shades did £13.6 million so this is about the same drop the movie experienced in the States.
Heretic
Way higher than I thought for Fifty Shades. Very good opening. With Valentines still to come, it has a good shot at £20m. Great for Lego Batman too, it will have a huge week with half term. £25m looks like a good target. Sing and LB together should be easily over £50m worth of tickets. Edited February 12, 2017 by Heretic
FantasticBeasts
FSD's opening is VERY impressive considering that the first one had the Valentine's Day boost,
