SchumacherFTW
Is Marilyn having a wide release? Yeah, how wide i'm not sure, but my local 6 screen has it.
Ariadne
13.9m is amazing for BD1 - I never expected it to beat NM or Eclipse's opening weekends!
SchumacherFTW
Wow, definitely looking like Marilyn has the widest release this week, followed by 50/50, then Dream House and finally Moneyball. Sucks that 50/50 isn't wider as I really want to see it.
CJohn
Dream House will be released this weekend in UK? Wow... I saw that movie a long time ago, almost forget about it :lol:You should definitly see 50/50. It is fantastic.

Even though I live in one of the most famous towns in history, the closest cinema showing it is nearly 30 miles away.
Jonwo
Moneyball wont do well as it's a baseball film and they rarely do well outside of America. MWWM should do okay, I expect AC to have a small drop and Breaking Dawn to have a huge drop.

SchumacherFTW
You have me curious, what town is this? I refer to it as hell, but most refer to it as Hastings.
Ariadne
I think I've driven through it - but yeah, not a big town.
SchumacherFTW
Considering it's place in history, it's strangely small.
SchumacherFTW
Just found out Cineworld are buying in to the IMAX biz from Dec 21st in Edinburgh, with two more to open early next year in Sheffield and Nottingham. Will the IMAX digital roll out pick up pace even quicker now that we have a second chain getting in on it? http://www.cineworld.co.uk/news/308/detail Edited November 25, 2011 by Schumacher FTW
Heretic
Probably. IMAX is expanding very quickly now. I have 2 local cinemas with IMAX now, both of which didn't have it 2 years ago.
SchumacherFTW
I could do with them opening one up in Crawley, the closest one to me atm is real IMAX at the BFI.

SchumacherFTW
It's usually twice a year I make it up there. Which i've managed for Sucker Punch and Transformers thus far. When it's nearly two hours on a train and costs 20 quid return it's difficult to make it there often. Touch wood i'll get there for MI4 as well. Robertron
I always had a feeling that AC would do well in the UK. It just seemed like a film that would do well.
Jonwo
It's made by Aardman plus the fact there is no similar kids competition, next week it faces Hugo and Happy Feet Two so it'll be interesting if it can hold up against those two, HF2 will not do as well as the first film simply due to competition from Hugo, Puss in Boots and Alvin 3. It seems there is more family film competition this year compared to previous year, last year was only Narnia and Gulliver's Travels.
