The Dark Alfred
We have more bookings for Monday than we had for Sunday and Sunday was the strongest day of the weekend due to the weather, so it's looking like a mighty week for Prometheus. It faces zero competition till Spidey.
Jonwo
I think Prometheus, MIB and SW will have a strong week, the only thing I can doing good in June is Rock of Ages but I can't see it doing more than £2-3m for its five day opening.

Heretic
Its at approx $us78m so yes and considering mon/tues this week holidaysReally? That would mean it's in the £50.5-51m range. It was at £46.9m last weekend. Unless it somehow doubled on last weekend or something, how is that possible? Would be incredible if true.

The Dark Alfred
10m 5-day is happening. It should be over 2m on Wednesday, too. £13m first week.

A percentage of the gross would have been converted at the higher exchange rate of a month ago. I believe that's the US dollar figure Rth is giving. SchumacherFTW
I was impressed with my Avengers audience earlier, around 75/80 people at the 12pm 2D show. Shame there's only two shows a day atm.
Heretic
Yeah, I'm surprised. It has 5 shows at mine today, but so far, the shows have been full. If the total is indeed $78m, it could get close to $85m in the end. Edited June 4, 2012 by Heretic
Heretic
The wettest April for over a century proved to be anything but a washout for the entertainment industry, new figures have revealed. Britons flooded cinemas and theatres in record numbers to escape the gloomy weather, according to a study of the spending habits of half a million credit card users. Over the month, Britons spent 155 per cent more oncinema and theatre trips this year compared to April 2011. John Brady, head of commercial at John Lewis's partnership card said: "It seems that when it's wet, cinemas and theatres do a booming trade. The poor April weather this year was certainly great news for arts and culture." April's box office takings were also boosted by the UK release of superhero ensemble flick Avengers Assemble, which stars Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and a CGI version of The Incredible Hulk. The blockbuster is the third-biggest grossing film of all-time, having just passed the global takings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. RthDeadWov
Interesting thing whilst 3 day weekend Prometheus is about double #2 MIB3, for Mon/tues holiday its about 40-45% ahead of MIB3
TLK
Interesting thing whilst 3 day weekend Prometheus is about double #2 MIB3, for Mon/tues holiday its about 40-45% ahead of MIB3I think that sounds right. Prometheus should play more like a sequel because of the more upfront demand while MIB3 is playing like an original movie rather than a sequel. I know its weird but it makes sense. Dementeleus
Or that PROM skews older and therefore will have weaker weekdays (fewer adults catching evening screenings), but stronger weekends.
Jonwo
Interesting that MIB3 is ahead of Snow White, the weather really impacted its OW but it seems to have picked up due to the Holidays.
Heretic
Family films always do better during holidays.MIB has really rebounded. By Sunday it could be over $20m easily.
SchumacherFTW
It's good that MIB3's rebounded, it didn't deserve the god awful opening weekend it had.
