Its at approx $us78m so yes and considering mon/tues this week holidays

Really? That would mean it's in the £50.5-51m range. It was at £46.9m last weekend. Unless it somehow doubled on last weekend or something, how is that possible? Would be incredible if true.

We have more bookings for Monday than we had for Sunday and Sunday was the strongest day of the weekend due to the weather, so it's looking like a mighty week for Prometheus. It faces zero competition till Spidey.

If indeed Monday and Tuesday are at least on par with the weekend, it should clear £10m within 5 days.

Don't convert the total current gross at today's exchange rate. A percentage of the gross would have been converted at the higher exchange rate of a month ago. I believe that's the US dollar figure Rth is giving.

The wettest April for over a century proved to be anything but a washout for the entertainment industry, new figures have revealed.

Britons flooded cinemas and theatres in record numbers to escape the gloomy weather, according to a study of the spending habits of half a million credit card users. Over the month, Britons spent 155 per cent more oncinema and theatre trips this year compared to April 2011.

John Brady, head of commercial at John Lewis's partnership card said: "It seems that when it's wet, cinemas and theatres do a booming trade. The poor April weather this year was certainly great news for arts and culture."

April's box office takings were also boosted by the UK release of superhero ensemble flick Avengers Assemble, which stars Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and a CGI version of The Incredible Hulk. The blockbuster is the third-biggest grossing film of all-time, having just passed the global takings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Interesting thing whilst 3 day weekend Prometheus is about double #2 MIB3, for Mon/tues holiday its about 40-45% ahead of MIB3

I think that sounds right. Prometheus should play more like a sequel because of the more upfront demand while MIB3 is playing like an original movie rather than a sequel. I know its weird but it makes sense.
