I think Free Guy should be headed for £2m+ at #1 considering the sheer amount of marketing it’s had.

What a match final day. England was in as good position as they can be but then they lost plot in order to seek vengeance on Bumrah, giving time to Bumrah and Shami to set and bat like regular batters.

I started day thinking hopefully we have 200 lead and then the runs just kept coming.

Great bowling effort as well to wrap England on very batting friendly pitch in 50 overs or so.

Monday top 5 via ComScore

1 - #FreeGuy
2 - #PAWPatrolMovie
3 - #TheSuicideSquad
4 - #JungleCruise
5 - #SpaceJamANewLegacy

Scottish schools went back yesterday and today so that might impact some of the family films this week. When do England go back?

The Last Letter From Your Lover and Stillwater hit by their WOM and new releases, falling -77% and -62%.

New this weekend:

Snake Eyes: 8 showings and taking all PLF’s away from Free Guy, not a good decision.
The Night House: 2 evening showings

Censor: 1 late night showing

Reminiscence: 4 showings

People Just Do Nothing: 5 showings from 18th

Free Guy 8 showings, Paw Patrol 7, The Suicide Squad and Jungle Cruise 5. Black Widow, Don’t Breathe 2 and The Courier down to 1 showing each.

Going to be a LOT of empty PLF’s! It seems to be split between Snake Eyes and Free Guy around me with IMAX, but Snake Eyes is getting the evening and late shows.

Reminiscence seems to be quietly getting pushed out the door, I’ve not seen anything promoting it at all. You’d expect a bigger push for an Inception style film starring Hugh Jackman…definitely seems to show a lack of confidence in the film, I’m eagerly awaiting the reviews.

I don't even know what "People just do nothing" is but I think it will manage it

I’d never heard of it until the constant Cineworld tie-in adverts started a few weeks ago 😂. I think it must be based on a TV show. Seems to be the second widest release of the week.

How is UK box office compared to pre-pandemic average? I feel like recovery in UK is much better than in domestic place.

It’s definitely been going in the right direction, still some way to go though. Luckily there are lots of big films on the horizon.

I’ve seen the People Just Do Nothing trailer multiple times in the cinema lately, and every single time it lands with an absolute thud. Not a single laugh.

Quite why Cineworld hitched their Unlimited promotional campaign to that wagon is highly questionable.

Looks like Odeon have done the same from ads I've had online, though Showcase definitely haven't

They must’ve been very cheap to produce. Hopefully they don’t keep them on screen for too long, the Unlimited one is extremely irritating after you’ve seen it a couple of times.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Paw Patrol won the weekend.
