It's also with noting that while Bond generally has positive media coverage, currently it is slavering all over it.

If we were outside of the current situation you could even argue the BBC is bordering on breaching neutrality the extent to which it is providing free publicity and going with the 'saviour of cinema' tag. There is no way anyone in the country is unaware this is coming out and that they are 'supposed' to go to it, even if they are non cinemagoers who never watch film trailers on Youtube or anything.

I rolled my eyes at the whole 'saviour of cinema' thing with Bond. Yes, it'll bring back those who don't see films at the cinema that often but it completely undermines things that have done well in the last few months like Shang-Chi, Free Guy etc

Maybe savior of UK cinema? Nothing blew up quite like NTTD there while America had a number of very strong openings and great holds.

Nothing has blown up but there's been plenty of films that have cracked £10m+ since cinemas have reopened.

Just checked Dune sales at BFI IMAX, they're pretty kick ass, waaaaay more shows than I expected

I was looking at the LS sales and it's sold a fair bit. I think it might do better business than expected.

Friday definitely looking a lot busier than Thursday. Saturday looking at £7m+ based on current sales, could go even higher

It's weird that Friday is higher than Thursday but I guess even with WFH, not many want to go out on that day.

Friday nights are usually much busier due to the weekend, especially the later shows past 9/10pm. Certainly looks that way tonight. Packed shows everywhere I’m looking. Saturday daytime business should see a big increase from today, and evening business should sustain so will be a huge day for sure.
