47 Meters Down — $7.86m

 

And other August horror movies:

 

Scary Stories — $4.62m

Slender Man — $5.86m

Annabelle 2 — $4.51m

 

Even the best case scenario is pretty lackluster.

Great for Good Boys! This has been a lackluster time for R-rated comedies.  Hopefully around $25 million or so. 

 

Not surprised about 47 Meter Cashgrab. It’s unnecessary

Using IMs of previous R-rated comedies to compare Good Boys with:

 

Tag — $23.69m

Blockers —  $28.79m

The Spy Who Dumped Me — $26.75m

Happytime Murders — $21.0m

Hitman's Bodyguard — $28.06m

 

$25m+ is definitely doable.

It's amazing how bad this year has been for comedies compared to 2018. 

 

If this does hold to a mid 20s weekend, and gets a 3X multiplier, that's a pretty great performance.
