Especially for a writer who died at 41. I don't know what era she lived in and didn't know she died at 41. I just mean that since she has a legendary status as one of the greatest writers who ever lived, I assumed she had some grand collection of masterpieces... I mean, think of a legendary filmmaker who only made 6 films. Quote

The one who immediately comes to mind for me is Satoshi Kon (he didn't even get to 6, more like 4.5 and a mini-series, though he worked on other projects in capacities other than direction). Like Austen, he died relatively young (46) but not before making his indelible mark in animation and as Richard Corliss pointed out in his Time magazine eulogy for Kon, filmmaking in general. If your work plays a key role in inspiring films like Inception and Black Swan, then you are pretty damn legendary in my book. Edited February 5, 2016 by Spidey Freak 2 Quote
TalismanRing Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Terrence Mallick - 8 or 9 films over almost 50 years and he's picked up the pace in the last decade.. Quote
department store basement Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) This was a great movie. Screw the critics. I loved the mid-credits sequence so much. Edited February 6, 2016 by department store basement Quote

snitch Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 It was a fun movie. The cast was into it and they were pretty good. I can only imagine how awesome it was going to be if it was R rated. 1 Quote
TheMovieman Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 So based on the latest estimates from Deadline, this won't even cross the $6M mark (they have it at $5.5M). Quote

I'm guessing cause of SB? My theater was about 30% full (higher than when I saw 5th Wave) Quote
shayhiri Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Another unholy aberration the Shay will kill (after 5th Wave). Die, movie, die. PS: Lily James's in it and I had NO idea till now she was also in Cinderella. Liked her quite a bit more here. Well, the Shay's always been a brunettes man. That's why I'm spending the next month in the embrace of Siam and Indochina('s beauties). Ta-ta, folks. 1 Quote

Avatree Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) And it looks like PPZ isn't even going to be doing very well in the UK. If it had released on a different weekend it would have fared better, but Deadpool, Zoolander, How to be Single and PPZ all opening (to various degrees) on the same weekend, Deadpool is just leaving everything else in the shadows. FOUR comedic movies on the same weekend? The distributors there sure must have fucked up. Edited February 13, 2016 by department store basement Quote

SchumacherFTW Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Our schedule is kinda screwed up that's for sure. Caught this last night, thought it was a good bit of dumb fun, didn't really have any reference point as I've never read nor seen an adaptation of pride and prejudice. Quote
eddyxx Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I didn't realize this had already came out. So much for the zombie fad. Quote
