Mulan is almost a lock. I can see Mulan doing 1B from China and NA only

that's really ambitious. What do you think the breakdown is?

$400m USA+Canada and $600m China?

More like $350M (Aladdin, Jungle Book, Alice, Zootopia, and Inside Out) + $650M (Endgame and Wandering Earth). Probably wont, but $800M from those 2 regions is a safe bet as long as the HK controversy doesn't escalate further.

You're basically predicting it's going to be one of the biggest movies ever in China then? I guess we'll know more when 2020 comes along.

Mulan will not make more than Aladdin domestic. Aladdin was a fun movie which kids enjoyed. Mulan looks serious, i doubt it will appeal to kids that much

In my opinion,  movies that are most likely to hit $1bi are.

1.Furious
2.Mulan (I think it will be a monster OS).
3.WW84
4.Minions 2

If anyone else gets to 1 billion I will be surprised.

1.Furious 9 = $210m Dom+ $860m OS ($280m China) = $1070 Bi.

2.Mulan = $300m Dom+ $760m OS ($350m China) = $1060 Bi.

3.WW84 = $450 Dom+$580m OS ($130m China) = $1030 BI.

4.Minions 2= $240m Dom+$680  ($80m China) = $920m.

Others.

James Bond = $230m Dom+$650m ($100m China) = $880m.

Eternals = $300m Dom + $550m  (150m China) = $850m

Black Widow = $300m Dom+$500m ($110m China) $800m

Tenet = $200m Dom+ $400m OS ($80m China).

It was making a billion anyway :Gaga:

I hope this isn’t the new Civil War where it would make a billion without RDJ but it gets talked about like “that movie which made a billion because of a RDJ.”

Spoiler

Less hyperbolically I think it had a decent chance before but was far from a lock, and now has a slightly better chance but not by much since it’s probably a pretty small cameo.

Just like how Far From Home made more than Homecoming?

Depending on how much/ if it can't be edited out the LGBT rep is Eternals may not be released in some intentional markets, which would hurt it's odds even further beyond being a super obscure property.

I chose Bond, WW84, and Fast 9. Fast 9 and WW84 are obvious, and I think that Bond might have a chance at making 1B again. It did great with Skyfall, Spectre fell off, but I think it gross up to 1B again for next year.

Damn next year is garbage. But perhaps people will finally stop complaining about Disney MONOPOLY lol. I can already see meltdowns next year about how Disney+ and other streaming services killed cinema.

Anyways I think these have a good shot

1. FF9   - I don't see this doing less than 1 billion.

2. Mulan - If it smashes in China its happening. We shall see

3. Bond - It's a long shot but since there's not many interesting movies coming I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

Black Widow and Eternals scream 600-800 million grossers... Sadly

sadly ............................................ close the studio fire kevin

The fact that i have to say "Other" instead of Godzilla vs Kong is infuriating to me.

BW is going to make 1B and way more than Eternals. people are seriously overestimating Eternals. jolie isn't a draw she used to be and the concept is Percy jackson with older people.
