TheUndertaker
An important thing to note is that the overseas share increased again. Now it's 33.5/66.5. Edited October 20, 2019 by TheUndertaker
peludo
Let's see: 3rd weekend OS Deadpool: $40m Venom: 32 Deadpool 2: 41 Joker: 77 After 3rd weekend OS (multiplier from 3rd weekend) Deadpool: 96 (x2.4) Venom: 84 (x2.6) - Excluding China Deadpool 2: 83 (x2.1) Unless Joker suddenly collapses, I can not see it doing the Deadpool 2 multiplier. With legs a bit better than Deadpool and a bit worse than Venom (x2.5) from now, it would do $192m more, so $682m OS. With same legs than Venom and Logan DOM, it makes $315m. With both Deadpool legs, about $325m. That means 997-1.007b WW, and this asuming normal legs OS from now. IMO, it is reaching the billion. 7 5 1

I would be shocked though if this movie ends up doing a lot more during its 4th weekend (ex: 900M), but I don't think that's possible. reddevil19
Right, so it seems fairly consistent across the board - great holds, but steeper than first weekend. That's part of the reason why I'm seeing 950 as a ceiling - exhausting its audience means that, even the leggier markets will show steeper drops week-to-week, rather than softer. Hope I'm wrong - let's see how it goes over the week, with Terminator also opening.
RJ 95
Japan of course help 3rd weekend drop otherwise it might be 39/40% drop. Still it's smaller drop than other SH movie in it's 3rd weekend. Lower ceiling with 50% drop even take it into 625m OS. Anyway another fantastic day in Japan. If Europe exhausting and drop bigger. Japan certainly doesn't follow that script at all. I will confirm this later because this Monday number seems too good to be true. Should be 50% drop from Sunday normally.
RJ 95
Japan - Monday Joker ends this day with more admission than last week Tue,Wed,Thu and Fri. Of course it was lesser than last week Monday because it's holiday. Also only drop 20% from it's first Monday. Must be because tomorrow will be another holiday in Japan which make evening business very solid. Right now maybe Japan only #5 biggest OS market but with the way Joker drop each week. It become increasingly possible for them to finish #2. Edited October 21, 2019 by RJ 95 2 3
titanic2187
HOLDOVERS/EXPANSIONSJOKER Warner Bros. Pictures Warner Bros/Village Roadshow/Bron Studios’ phenomenon is headed towards a potential $900M+ global tally which would make it the highest grossing R-rated U.S. release of all time. That’s all the more impressive because it could do it without the benefit of a China release (although the movie is actually boasting a 9.2 on local reviews aggregator Douban). This weekend, Joaquin Phoenix’s social outcast was embraced to the tune of $77.8M on 18,978 offshore screens. The drop was just 37% from last session and brings the overseas cume to $490.3M for $737.5M worldwide. In new benchmarks, Joker is the 4th highest grossing DC movie ever, and the top DC title in 17 markets including Italy, Spain, Russia, Argentina and Mexico. Arthur Fleck held sway again at No. 1 across Europe with a 34% regional drop this frame. In Asia, he has surpassed Batman V Superman to become the No. 3 DC film ever and in Lat Am is the No. 4 DC movie for the region. Germany, which got in on the Joker last weekend, held to a 14% drop to cume $20.5M so far. The UK’s 3rd weekend saw a 42% dip for a terrific $49.9M to date. In France, also a sophomore session, the slide was 33% for $19.2M thus far. Brazil too had a 33% drop and has cumed $25.5M while Mexico is at $36.4M Japan, where Joker has a tight grip, saw a 36% increase in ticket sales this weekend and has now grossed $25.3M to become the 2nd biggest DC title ever. The Top overall markets are the UK ($49.9M), Mexico ($36.4M), Korea ($32.9M), Brazil ($25.5M) and Russia and Japan (tied at $25.3M). In IMAX, Joker has now cumed $30M worldwide.

Also this movie weirdly despite what critic says have crazy high audience rating in whatever country in this world. It seems like in every country movie site, it sits at least in top 5 superhero movie in terms of audience rating.

Bart Allen
If it does get to $975M million it'll make it the biggest non-billion dollar movie ever beating the first Harry Potter movie.

I don’t read reviews by the so called critics, but discussions here it seems the most negative reviews are from the US, the discrepancy between critics and audience doesn’t seem to be an issue in the rest of the world. RJ 95
Portugal Joker already with 515.493 admission in Portugal. Avengers Endgame with 670.413 as second highest grossing movie in 2019. Joker just came with €600k weekend and 108.774 admission and if it holds stayed in that 20-30% for 2 more weekends. Joker should pass Endgame in early November to become highest grossing and most attended superhero movie in there. RJ 95
I should have post this together in Portugal post, sorry.. Also in Lithuania as per BOM, Joker just past Endgame as highest grossing superhero movie this year. Don't know if it's biggest of all time because data in BOM isn't perfect. To give some perspective, its total so far 2x CM gross, 3.5x SM:FFH and 7x Shazam.
