Having sold more than 750.000 admissions in Greece, Joker has now entered the all time top 5 in the country.It will probably stay there but there is still a chance it will reach 1M admissions and it's especially great considering that ahead of it are some local classics and Titanic, which sits pretty at the top with 2M admissions.

The Lion King $1,135,279 (there seems to be an error on Box Office Mojo

Avengers Endgame $1,144,369

Joker $986,612

 

Serbia and Montenegro

The Lion King $990,609

Avengers Endgame $804,153

Joker $512,530 (incomplete)

 

For example, BoxOfficeMojo said its opening weekend was $265,836, whereas the 85k admissions $446,000 (conversation to US dollars wasn't noted); but it's impressive it had the third biggest opening of all time behind Endgame and The Force Awakens.

Saturday - Japan

 

With Europe dropping better than previous weekend. It's Japan that usually doing better than them, dropping bigger than normally. Today Joker dropping 33.5% from last Saturday, bigger Saturday drop it ever experienced. There are some explanation for this though. Friday discount day, Losing 30% of it's seat total, and Monday holiday. Tomorrow if culture day doesn't affect, it should increase though with evening business stronger than usual Sunday.

Box office analysts say Joker will gross $950 million or more by the end of its theatrical run. And it even has a shot of clearing $1 billion.

 

With 920 by the end of this weekend, it will get past 950 even if it earns 0$ OS after this weekend.

It will probably near 930M if not pass it, and if Joker gets nominated for Best Picture and gets an expansion that performs similarly to Gravity, I risk saying that it may even beat TDKR.

With those OS numbers through thursday, it probably crossed 900M on friday, not today, actually.

How well did Gravity do after the expansion in 2013? Apart from the additional $19 million between January and May domestically?

Both gravity and a star is born (both are October release and WB films) added 25m OS after the award season started (excluidng Japan's gross and that country had late-release date for both films) .

Sunday - Japan

 

As expected because tomorrow holiday, evening business is much stronger than usual. Joker increase by 36.5% today, to make 23% weekend drop. Also with this $1.95m weekend .Will propel it to $37m by Sunday and tomorrow will reach $38m because holiday.$47m finish still possible if it can avoid >30% drop next weekend.

 

Also so far in Argentina, Joker still drop only 32.3% for Thu-Sat. Combine with smaller drop in Europe, all this make a positive sign for 35% drop, 32m. I personally expect >34m for OS weekend.

I did underestimate it big time but essence of what I said held true. It went above our loftiest projections. It should cross 1B in 2 weeks.

I think 340M+ domestic is where it will end, Japan has 12-16M to add, so just between these 2 markets it will get to 1B. All other markets are gravy now. Aladdin looks like the target, TS4 the stretch goal.
