I rewatch the trailer but I still find something lacking here. I remember first watched Old and Split trailer, the trailer got me screaming inside, "What is happening!?! I need to know! ", something that lacking in the Knock at the Cabin trailer.

Just got back from seeing it. Dave Bautista continues to prove that he’s the best wrestler-turned actor. The movie as a whole is surprisingly restrained for a Shyamalan film. It’s a solid movie overall.

Seeing this on Tuesday. Disappointing how the box office outlook kind of cratered (was thinking it would challenge $25M+ on OW) but I'm looking forward to it regardless!

I didn’t feel much tension or dread at all, but was never bored. 6/10

 

A Scottish extra with a few brief lines in the film had all of her family and friends with her during my showing and they all clapped for her at the end, very sweet.

Can definitely see why audiences would hate this. But I certainly didn't. It paints with some really broad strokes at times, and not all of them work (and some of the characters could use some work to feel more like people and less like chess pieces in a game) but this is definitely the most interesting thing Shyamalan has done in a long time.

I agree. Batista seemed as if he was just reading the script aloud at times. And M Night’s dialogue is known for being clunky, sometimes characters talk in ways that real people just don’t talk.

I would’ve preferred a bleak ending. For them not to make the decision and then to all die together for not believing.

Did we actually get a glimpse of that "figure of light" one of the dads saw? I must have missed it. And who was that supposed to represent? Maybe Jesus?
