Golden Globe Nominations 2019

Driver has a few scenes where he's definitely acting with an A, and Phoenix is like that for the bulk of Joker. I can see why awards shows would go for that over De Niro, I guess, even if he gave a stronger performance

there's a lot of contenders this year i could see De Niro getting blanked unfortunately. I guess Banderas (also wonderful, my second choice for best actor) is taking up space as the "quiet subtle type" perforamance. i could see deniro not getting a SAG nod either.

Morning Show that is actually getting very mixed responses from critics and audience is nominated while Watchmen which is of A+ quality is snubbed in every category.

No nomination for anyone from Watchmen. It really saddens me. This year nominations are worst by far.

Fleabag and Succession are better than Watchmen.

I'll agree here, but none of the other nominees were close to as good. Succession might well be the show of the year, but The Morning Show and BLL season 2 certainly weren't.

What a disgrace!! Todd Philips over Noah.

Snubbing Lupita, Watchmen, Pugh.

Lupita is far better than most of the actresses this year. She is not here because she is not white.

I hate Globes for doing this. Can I ask why the hell is Cate Blanchett (I love her btw) nominated?

This is biased a hell.

Greta Gerwig snubbed again.

Hollywood still loves their white men over anyone else.

Lupita Nyong'o snubbing is wrong in every possible way. I don't even know how to address this.

Neither for supporting actress nor for lead actress.

It's very disappointing to see Globes doing this. Snubbing everything that's not white.

Can I ask how Aniston and Reese are better than Regina King in Watchmen?

Can we infer you're not altogether happy with the choices?

Pleasantly surprised that the Jojo Rabbit kid got in btw. I wasn't sure if he would considering they tend to recognize young actors later as an IOU (ala Hailee Steinfeld for True Grit/The Edge of Seventeen, Lucas Hedges for Manchester by the Sea/Boy Erased, the Beasts of the Southern Wild girl for that Annie remake that clearly drove Cameron Diaz to retire from acting). Guess we don't have to worry about a makeup nom for when he perhaps inevitably plays Pinocchio in Disney and Robert Zemeckis' live-action remake.

BLL Season 1 is one my favourite seasons ever and I agree. Season 2 was probably the biggest dissapointment for me this year.

i said it before but big little lies 2 was bad but also sort of incredible that the ENTIRE season was just people talking about stuff that happened in the last season. like nothing new happened. at all. they were just recapping the whole time. i've never seen a season of television like that before. i wonder what a season 3 would look like "remember when we remembered when your husband died?"
