Late September just isn't the right time to release an animated film. Stuff like House with a Clock, Peregrine, and presumably Addams Family could do well with the Halloween theme, but September just isn't the time of year families seem itching to go to the movies.

Smallfoot's prod budget was 80m. That one did 83m dom (3.6x multi), 131m os for 214m ww.

 

Abominable's prod budget is 75m. If it mirrors dom legs and dom:os split of Smallfoot after an 18m ow then is looking at 65 dom, 102.5 os and 167.5 ww.

Might check out Abominable since I have nothing better to do tbh but sad that a DreamWorks movie opening this low isn't really a surprise anymore.

Pretty meh for Abominable but expected. DreamWorks Animation has gone from being at the top of the animation chain alongside Disney/Pixar to mostly an afterthought this decade.

What? It's very good number actually. Very strong. It's 140% increase from thursday while First man and Arrival had 130%. 10M is on the table and sub50 drop. Very good for Ad Astra.
