WandaLegion 13,825 Posted October 1, 2020 Also, this is meaningless, but I got a chuckle out of the article using the wrong date (Nov 5). So many release date changes that even HWR can’t keep the mcu schedule straight 😛
YourMother the Edgelord 21,159 Posted October 1, 2020 Interesting choice of development I’ll say that.

I mean this seems pretty straightforward — positive connotations good, negative connotations bad. It makes me wonder if they have a specific multiverse winking thing lined up here and went to Foxx specifically or if they just decided to use electro in the story with any actor and liked Foxx when he re-auditioned or something.

Joker was an Academy Award nominated film and I hated it. Just because others like it, doesn’t mean others do. WandaLegion 13,825 Posted October 1, 2020 To be clear I won’t be surprised if he turns in a good performance and I like the character a lot in this movie, it’s just an out of left field move that creates more questions than it answers for me.
WandaLegion 13,825 Posted October 1, 2020 Maybe Foxx wanted a new take at the character and brought it up himself ala Mahershala for Blade.

I doubt it’ll be the ASM interpretation lol. And I sincerely doubt people are thinking “golly gee whiz, I sure do like Marvel and I’m excited for this movie, but Jamie Foxx being in this means I won’t watch it because he was in a bad Spider-Man movie”. Honestly, put all the bombed reboots into these superhero movies. Replace Battinson with George Clooney and shit
Menor 6,663 Posted October 1, 2020 My take is that Foxx is a good actor, and nobody will be turned off by having him in the movie.
lorddemaxus 6,956 Posted October 1, 2020 (edited) Kevin Feige thought Jamie Foxx had a lot of potential as Electro btw (he said that in the leaked emails). He just didn't like the direction they took. Edit: Quote Really love Electro – feels like you may not need the scene in his apartment, which makes him seems completely crazy and hard to relate too. Valonqar 9,891 Posted October 1, 2020 So crossover between 3 Spiderman franchises is happening. I thought that Feige praising Iman Vellani's Spiderman 3 4.5 review was another hint.
John Marston 18,213 Posted October 1, 2020 Matter of time before Maguire and Garfield show up also this should mean they should bring back Willem Defoe as Norman Osborn

WandaLegion 13,825 Posted October 1, 2020 Also, acting choices aside, this will be the first reused major villain from the 5 non-MCU live-action spider-men, right? Guess it was going to happen eventually but also gets them closer to Sinister Six if the studios keep cooperating.

SpiderByte 3,195 Posted October 1, 2020 So that's why they haven't revealed the title early like the last two, and why there's been almost no details about the story. It's a live-action Spider-Verse movie.
