Never even seen a promo for the show.

Why are they mixing the movies with the TV series?

OK, I'm convinced you're just messing with everyone.

You've seen Marvel's plans for Disney+, right?

We don't live in the world of "Movie and TV are separate" anymore.

Thr fuse goes off the second the movie actually releases. Marvel didn't have Cap catching Mjolnir or Avengers Assemble in the trailers, even though both those leaked online beforehand, and they were the biggest moments in Endgame.

Endgame had the hype of IW to go after, that was the sell. The sell for this is all three Spider-Man.

No one cares about the old Netflix TV shows that were cancelled and the fact that one of them (may? spoiler alert?) be in this movie is the kind of fan wank bullshit that has no bearing on a movie as an art or story and is just to get gasps from nerds at midnight showings. It adds no text or subtext - it's just a game of "I recognize that thing!"

I'm eating my Wheaties today baby!

So much hate in one post....

Everything OK?

I'm not going to belabor the point and bag on what other people enjoy, but the idea of something being good because it services nostalgia and fanhood instead of story is pretty worthy of at least some skepticism and these threads shouldn't have to just be a bunch of "look at how cool this Easter Egg is". If these movies are going to be all that get money anymore, people have a right to express their opinion on it, even if it isn't just love.

@Cmasterclay  Sounds like you'll dislike the new Ghostbusters equally as much (see linked opinion).

But I get your argument -- it has to serve the story!

I've only seen WandaVision.

But Wanda was already established in the Avengers...putting Daredevil in this film because he has a TV show is pushing it IMO.

Yeah, but those weren't the hooks for the movie.  That was the culmination of 11 years of movies building to a grand finale following a movie in which most Avengers and half the universe got snapped out of existence.  They hid everything they could and that was smart.

I didn't know that stuff was leaked, and I'm guessing most of the GA didn't either, so relying on leaks to build hype for the general audience seems crazy to me.

I could be completely wrong and it works out, that would actually be amazing.  But I know if it were me in charge, I don't think I have the balls to pull it off.

i don't think any plot points from Daredevil are gonna make their way into the movies or it'll even be a significant role it's just the type of thinking like "oh there's a scene where spider-man needs a lawyer why not use our popular lawyer character who also lives in New York?" it's fanservicey but it doesn't have to feel shoehorned in.

I find the entire new Ghostbusters film to be unbelievably, check myself into rehab depressing, so you're right on that one.
