Woah! -32.3% for Joker. Columbus Day observance on 9th Oct this year.

So Thu drop will be bigger than anticipated.

No, Columbus Day is Monday, October 14th. Yesterday, many schools were closed in observance of the Jewish high holiday of Yom Kippur.

Well Joker is R-rated, in theory it shouldn’t make difference.

a lot of adults get a day off too when those schools are closed. not to mention non-educational institutions also observing the day.

So Thu drop will be bigger than anticipated.

So Wednesday drop would have been bigger. Going by Abominable rise, last week dropped by 55%, grew by 2%, perhaps real value drop is close to 45-50%.

Movies like Abominable are in a much better shape to take advantage of the holiday though. I would guess 40-45% would be the real value drop similar to IT2's 1st week (+46.1%, -43.5%). Joker was +43.4% so expected closer to 40% Wed drop.

Saw Joker last night, car park full, theatre as full as for Endgame.

UK is lapping this up in a way I wouldn't expect for a DC film, especially for something so disturbing.

Anyway, 11/10, phenomenal movie, give it all the awards.

Thank you folks. It seems there was some boost yesterday. Otherwise there is no way Wednesday would be on par with Monday. It will drop hard today as well worse than normal thursday. But let us see how friday is.

Biggest change is it has fewer shows at MTC 3125 vs 3631 yesterday. That is a big change. I guess losing imax/plf(some of them) to Gemini Man will be the biggest impact.
