This is biggest I have seen a film do in single day in Vietnam since re-opening. Overall weekend of $2.2M. Raya opened #3 with $200K weekend. Sunday $100K. This is the biggest local hit in VietNam recently since re-opening. Yes it is that. 2 national funeral days on 3 may and 4 may 2019 for for the death of former president Lê Đức Anh. During these 2 days all leisure activities and therefore the cinemas were closed. That's roughly 6% of Vietnam population and double of Endgame. So one more Asian market reclaiming/claiming the market from Hollywood. Next up Indonesia. Among recent films I know, its bigger than Far From Home and Captain Marvel. But WB has reported only $3.4M. What actually happens is that Studio will sell the film to other distributor outside Bangkok and CMM. Now usually in such arrangement, the other distributor isn't obliged to share the numbers with Studio, so possibly studios don't report the outside two metros numbers. But recently they started reporting the numbers, weirdly WB didn't this time. Hopefully they will correct it tonight.
