It is great, but also, aren’t these some of the fastest growing markets in overall size in past 6 years?

WTF are these numbers. Damnit.

Just growth doesn't bring them.

ffs Opening day was 0.5mn, from there $6.1mn weekend is insane.

Fantastic debuts...hugely impressed with the Japan and South Korea numbers.

Basically, it broke the record for animated debuts in many parts of Europe...honestly, it looks like it's only the US where the movie didn't explode this weekend. An anomaly? Nope...it just reinforces my belief that Frozen 2's US gross is going to explode throughout Thanksgiving.

poor @john2000. more often than not his sarcastic statements are taken seriously by people.

BTW, 250? It won't be doing that much. 215 range.

You were right. I had taken into account some markets where it has not been released (Australia, Brazil, Russia, ...).

Anyway, amazing opening. Heading to billion OS.

Typo? Must be domestic OW.

It's a typo for $230M not for Domestic OW.

Edit : my bad. You're right. I checked this thread first before the weekend thread.

Who did those UK and France estimates???
Germany looks to be $15.4M (will post actual numbers once they get announced (some time tomorrow)).

The actual admissions numbers is know already: 1,635,215 (5 days) (comp: Frozen I (4 days + previews (82k) : 654,213 => +149.95%) (Endgame 5-day: 2,133,546 (-23.36%), TLK 5-day: 1,131,362 (+44.5%))

Normally movies have a 4-day opening weekend, but Disney this year decided to start their four big blockbusters* (Endgame, TLK, Frozen II and RTOS) on a Wednesday, so a 5-day opening weekend, apart from this comp I'll most likely always will talk about the 4-day number, which isn't exactly known for Frozen II yet, put probably something around 1425k.

This year the box office charts have a top group consisting of 6 movies, (4 Disney, Joker and a german comedy) all above 4M (with this opening Frozen II should easily get past 4M and RTOS needs to get past that) and then the rest below 2.5M.

China - 100m

Japan - 150m

Rest in release - 500m(Asia legs will average out sub 3x and rest over 3x).

Russia - 40m(that is over 2.5B Rubles @juni78ukr hope that is possible)

Australia - 40m(XR is crap now)

Italy - 30m ( @Omni confirm if its too lwo)

Brazil - 25m

Rest - 65m

950m OS.

Generally legs tend to hold better and so could hit 1B OS without having a crazy run. But will need major growth and good holds.
