Weekend Thread: Estimates - Midway 17.5, Sleep 14.1, Fire 12.8, Xmas 11.6, Terminatah 10.8, Jokah 9.2, Mal2 8

Recommended Posts

Unless there's something that has slipped my memory, I believe this weekend will mark the first full November weekend (i.e. not Halloween falling on a Friday) in 20 years where the #1 movie will make under $20 million. Yikes!

I'm shocked that doctor sleep performed so badly, but I guess it's a sequel no one really asked for to a film that is a cult classic, but no exactly general audience friendly. I think a good comparison to this would be blade runner 2049, another film that was overhyped for it's box office but ended up underperforming. I think this film will make film Twitter really happy though.

I don't think it's necessarly true about smith. he wanted to do Django, but he didn't agree with the character motivations. Proof he cares about the story, not always about money

that's why he picked SS, AE and Bright 😝

He didn't agree about his paycheck, you mean.

part of the reason behind GM's high budget could be that he got paid twice 😂

The poor souls who fought at Midway suffer  through hell so we can have

a generation of ungrateful, entitled, moralizing, energy & ressources gobblers

whiners who act as victims at every opportunity they can get and think they know how hard life is.

They wouldn't survive 2 minutes in 1942.

45 seconds tops.

They would turn into the foetal position in a catatonic state.

They adore The Joker.

Of course  it is their hero.

Their commander in chief victim.

"Earn this"

was the last sentence of Saving Private Ryan.

Still waiting ...

what ressources gobblers? Joker was mentally ill. the government cut off his medication. his actions are not good after that, but in a way i'm not surprised he's seen as a victim. we don't know what type of illness he had, but he was a sick man.

of course the soldiers in wars have it harder, but joker would never serve in a legit war. he was not of sound mind

I think Midway could just barely squeak over if it holds well today and tomorrow with the holiday on Monday. But yeah, a weak weekend overall.

Will Smith is right to go for the money. Oscar baits often turn out to be embarrassments for actors too. In fact those are usually the most embarrassing failures.

You say that like the man didn't do Collateral Beauty

Joker broke all R-records, and what remained of Futurist's sanity.

I thought nothing was left to break, but I was wrong. Now I have seen the truth.

Also, not the DOM R record, which is a pretty big one.
