I did honestly expect 550-600 million for Frozen 2 just because of how big a cultural phenomenon the 1st movie was. I still think it can surprise. 

On let it go, I always thought it was an average song catchy but nothing special. What elevates it is the movie. There is so much built up tension in Frozen leading up to that song, so when Elsa sings let it go It's incredibly cathartic. I wish they did the same with Show yourself. Still loved the song though.

There is a bigger division than that, Frozen is the biggest animation in Asia, but in Europe and Latin America other animations are stronger or are in the same level.

Toy Story by far the biggest brand in Latin even more than CBM ..

 

in UK also TS is the biggest animation brand by miles  .. DM & Ice Age franchise also in Europe 

 

Frozen clearly leading in Asia

In Frozen2, TLK and TS4 Disney has 3 animations in theaters.

Of these TS4 despite it's great run will end up the lowest grosser dom and ww

Joker went up OS. Global tally won't go below 1060 - 15 more OS and 8 more Dom (2.8 weekend est) will get it there.

 

Dom should be in for a longer run than just 8 more though what with awards buzz.

15 more OS could be conservative too after 8.2 weekend.

True. Though TS4 is not the lowest animated grosser of the year in an embarrassing way for Disney. It’s $434M DOM & $1.073B WW is still a huge number for an animated movie. 💁🏻‍♀️

In cinemas I agree. Out of cinemas (in term of merchandising sales) Frozen is the biggest cinematic (overall) brand WW follow by Minions (that are the only strong cinema brands born in 2010's). TLK and TS have been very strong at the time the original opened but now are outdated (merchandise speaking). SW is bigger only in America. Marvel and Harry Potter also are strong WW but aren't originally cinematic. Also Disney Princess brand sell a lot.

Minions & DM we should count all .. after the coming sequels this franchise has the best scope worldwide.. IMO
