You spent the past two years saying that the moviegoing experience was DEAD and that people were only interested in watching blockbusters these days, of course you'll deny it now.

Not sure why you’re all up in LMD’s face, when you say the exact same rhetoric, but okay then

That’s a great number for Frozen II. It saw a huge increase on Tuesday and for it to increase another 14-15% on Wednesday is great. I know it’s a holiday but still. That’s a great number.

Let’s see if the rest of the weekend can follow through.

when Disney said 23.78, you know the actual is higher than 24, you know Disney is playing the underestimate game, right?

If after 10 days Frozen ends up around 300 million, I think 500 million is pretty much assured for it.

Should end up around 1.450-1.5 billion worldwide and number ten all time WW.

Unsure how anyone can call that a disappointment XD

If you don't count The lion king remake (2019) as an animated movie, then Frozen 1 is still the highest grossing animated movie, and will be replaced by Frozen 2.

Then, both F1 and F2 are on the 2 top spots in the animation rank.

Money is never disappointing,but the context of expectations can sometimes make you feel it is.

Selected Wed:3-day  multipliers from Thanksgiving and derived F2 3-day. Multi from true OD for openers.

Frozen1 4.69x ->111.5M
Megamind 4.67x -> 111M

Coco 4.67x -> 111M
Puss in Boots 4.55x -> 108M
Big Hero 6 4.52x -> 107.5M

WIR 4.45x -> 106M

Moana 4.38x -> 104M

Grinch 4.35x ->103.5M

FB2 4.33x ->  103M

Add 1M if you think Wed actual will be more like 24.05 and 2M if you think Wed actual more like 24.25 😛

Add 40M for 5-day.

Ohh. This is "weekend estimate" estimate. Then its cool. I thought it's like daily estimate.

I will wait for few hours to comment on F2 but KO is looking pretty good today. I think it should clear 7mn today, may be 8.

giphy.gif

If KO hits mid 7s it could do $50m for the 5 day including previews

Playing with Fire will hit a 3.x multiplier on Saturday joining Harriet as the only November films (so far) to reach that milestone. Does Cena actually have a box office fan base who see whatever he's in or do they like him in comedies?

When looking at other animated films at this time of year; It’s interesting that the pattern seems to be that at its best Sunday matches Wednesday.

Usually there is a new animated family film that opens on the Wednesday. Frozens increase is not comparable since the data is not the same. Look at Grinch from last year / the play of others in 2017 when Coco opened, and so on.
