$40M is very solid. Seems to be lining up with Australian market where opening day was about 90% of TLJ's opening day.

Well i’m happy it doesn’t make less than 40 lol

$ 180M is probably locked, no reason for this be more frontloaded than TFA

$ 185-190M sounds about right, i’m expecting good legs so maybe $ 600M finish. WW maybe $ 1.15 - 1.2B, which is more than deserves.

Puts us right on the cusp of $200m.

OW should be somewhere between TLK (2019) and Black Panther.

Over 180 seems certain and maybe over AOU if it does well.

It's hard to tell with the GA but so far I doubt it has better legs. Seems like the most common reaction is "meh" not "holy shit that was amazing you have to see it".

My friend saw it last night and the theater erupted in applause at the beginning of the film but by the end of it, dead silence.

@ViewerAnon told me TLJ didn't hurt Star Wars. 🤔🤔

@Madhuvan told me TLJ killed Star Wars and yet the new one with rotten critical reviews just posted the 5th biggest preview number of all time. 🤔🤔

Right...where are we? Descending slope towards panic yet?

Disney will pull a $200m even ow estimate on Sunday for headlines, then it’ll drop to like 194 on Monday. I know it’s not like Disney to do that, but these are “desperate” times lol.

To be honest that "record" (less than both TFA and TLJ) doesn't mean anything, Star Wars is very frontloaded franchise, maybe the most frontloaded, let's see its holds over the next few days.

That really isn't true at all.  It may be frontloaded over its opening weekends but the movies tend to have good legs overall for big blockbusters.

You overestimate deadline, imo. This is obvious good news but it doesn’t totally rule out like, 40*4.5=180. Just makes it less likely.

How does one learn this power

still think it hits 190M+ with this number tho

Those are weak numbers both OS and DOM (I have no idea why a sub $200m OW DOM should be celebrated for the final movie). I'm glad things are back to normal, that wave of positivism brought by Deadline's stupid numbers scared me for a bit. :)

Who the heck would have thought 5 years ago after TFA broke records this is where the finale of Star Wars would go in terms of box office, Age of Ultron. LMAO!

Anything below a 2 is not good for this franchise sorry. Other franchises would salivate at this number but Star Wars? Nope.

So with TLJ multiplier for the weekend, it gets to $195M. Gives us a range of maybe $550M to $670M for the domestic total. Depends on whether it behaves more like TLJ or Rogue One.
