Just remember that it was explained before release why 300m wasnt truly an option barring never before happened sequel behavior. Its performing great and is going to make at least a 4.5x (270m area) if it holds well after the 1st.

Keep a bright look on the future.

You're right that based on what happened in past it's very unlikely that Jumanji will reach 300m, just like it was very unlikely that previous jumanji will made more money than justice league, and surpass 400m. I think it's safe to say that skywalker will make less money than last jedi so one more time jumanji will have opportunity to make a lot of money. I agree with you that 270m area is more likely than 300m, but achieving 300m doesn't need crazy holdovers, at least not as crazy as welcome in jungle. I will just have to wait and see january holds.

I'm sorry if i was rude to you in my previous comment.

People are just forgetting that TROS's opening weekend was quite frontloaded. The opening day ( Thursday + Friday ) is higher than both Saturday's and Sunday's numbers together. It's getting a boost for weekdays, thanks to the Holiday.

It's probably still making less than The Last Jedi's worldwide numbers.  Yeah, it's very obvious this movie is making more than 1 billion worldwide, but Rogue One also did that. TROS is the finale of a 40 years old saga, so you guys shouldn't be celebrating that a finale is barely making the same as a spinoff. In fact, that's very concerning for this franchise.

Agree. This film because of it's marketing should be making as much if not more then TFA. It's the finale of the entire saga, barely skimming by a billion is not good.

Wednesday, December 25, 2019 (Morning Update)
Disney's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkercontinued to rule the box office on Tuesday with an estimated $20.074 million for the day. That represented the second largest Christmas Eve gross of all-time, behind only the $27.396 million Christmas Eve performance of 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which fell on a Thursday and that film's seventh day of release). The Christmas Eve gross of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkercame in higher than the $17.630 million Christmas Eve gross of 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi (which fell on a Sunday and that film's tenth day of release). The Tuesday take of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was down 31.7 percent from Monday's performance. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker also registered the 20th largest Tuesday gross of all-time.

Only Disney can have a 1 Billion under performer making 500m domestic , that will lead to major restructuring at Lucasfilm. Move anything in OT era content wise to Disney + and produce fresh far removed from Saga content in theaters. In the end a big win for everyone.

i pictured that suffering from success meme.
