However lets be honest Frozen 2 likely sold way more in merchandise over these holidays lol

My nieces (4 and 6 years old) Frozen Christmas budget:

Cinema tickets 30€

Dolls, toys, clothes and other items related: 110€

So, I thought I was a deal finder getting 4 tickets to TROS for $10.50.  I had not yet seen my sis-in-law - she said they waited to see TROS b/c they wanted my brother there (he was visiting my mom) and by waiting, she found 5 tickets for $.12 each TOTAL (so $.60).  Not sure if she got them from a website that sells crappy seats last minute, if she put together cheap Tuesdays (at a smaller theater) with an Atom TMobile deal, or what...but I joked if she paid that little after I thought I had paid little, that Disney would be paying folks by next week.

Part of me wants to ask how she put it together...and part of me wants to stay away or I'll get addicted to try to find movie tickets that cheap to every movie...

Dude if we think this bad just think about 2020. Box office is crumbling it's over threads everywhere.

I'm curious if the lack of big Blockbusters will allow the mid range to fill out, more movies in the 40-120 domestic range. I think 2014 was like that, but I'm not at a computer to check right now.

Not gonna put out how much I spent on Frozen (musical alone is insane). Suffice to say I'm crazy.

1)Musical

2) frozen 2 dress

3) frozen hoodey

4) frozen 2 socks (50% off Target ftw!)

5) frozen jelly beans and stocking stuffers

6) frozen 2 Legos

7) frozen 2 IMAX

😎 frozen 2 second visit local theater next month

9) frozen shirt and sweater

Other things I can't remember.

It's pretty funny that pretty much everywhere else except here the narrative is that TROS is gaining ground on TLJ and is proving to have great WOM.

I was actually happily surprised this morning to find that C.S. Strowbridge over at the numbers had a very cogent take: https://www.the-numbers.com/news/243840830-Weekend-Estimate-Skywalker-Heads-Earthwards

Quote

It is already the seventh-biggest hit released in 2019, and is on pace to earn third place on that chart, maybe even second. Internationally, the film added $94.3 million in 52 markets for a running tally of $363.0 million internationally and $724.8 million worldwide. That’s without any earnings from South Korea, where it will debut in a couple of weeks. It should have no trouble getting to $1 billion worldwide by the end of its run, but most were expecting a lot more than that. It is yet another profitable disappoint—and we saw too many of those in 2019.

Never forget the wise words of Yougurt in "SPace Balls".

Let's face it;when it comes to merchandising  Disney is easrily the best in the business.
