I really don't understand how Sony fucked this one up so badly. It had everything to be a big win. Somehow it turned into a F Cinemascore.

@MCKillswitch123 Seems like it was a pretty big weekend here. I am expecting strong holds and solid performances from the two main openers (The Grudge and Richard Jewell). I am also expecting absolutely dreadful weekdays and some insane drops next weekend.

Should past the billion at least though not convinced about R1

will pass 1B but sharp drops should happen from now on everywhere no? so maybe photofinish with RO. I don't want it to pass Joker. It would be so undeserved. Joker was tremendously leggy R rated phenomenon that didn't get China release. It should remain above TROS.

The marketing sucked and people said it was a boring art house film. The funny thing even lovers of art house cinema said it was bad... So no one was happy with the result. But yeah this should've easily done $20M+ OW considering Grudge franchise is widely known. What a mess!

Not necessarily.  Japan where it's doing better than TLJ should continue to be very leggy and the other markets in Europe where it's doing it's best should be solid with no other huge releases on deck.
