Weekend Thread: Thursday Night Preview - The Grudge $1.8M w/ an F Cinemascore LMAO

Recommended Posts

Ralph Breaks the Internet legged out 2.98x its first January weekend, although it was down to 2,050 theaters already.

For Frozen II:

450.4 + 11.8*3 = 486.0

450.4 + 11.8*3.5 = 491.9

Looks like TROS will do right around 3M today.  Pretty much in line with expectations.

Discount Tuesdays resume tomorrow at AMC theaters.

AMC: "Discount Tuesdays are excluded December 24th and December 31st. The savings will return January 7th, 2020!"

So 1917 went UP 7.2% this weekend! Conversely, Lone Survivor decreased 6.6% on the same Jan 3-5 weekend back in 2014. That was also in only 2 theatres.

Yeah, I'm pretty comfortable with predicting $40M+ for 1917 next weekend. This is going to blow up!

While I would love to see that, I'm thinking more in the 30 million zone, especially since it's IMAX release isn't until January 24th. Some people (myself included) will be waiting for IMAX to see the film.

Are you extrapolating from Michigan numbers. That seems inline with what I am seeing at MTC1 overall. Around 3.1m monday.

3,1M would be good.

68% drop is better than aquaman last year and in line with The hobbit and two tower drop

Yes, it would be a solid Monday. Headed to 30M+ for this week if it follows Aquaman or The Hobbit 2.
