Wait, wait... hold up. Hang on.

I've mostly avoided trailers and clips for this (as most big movies nowadays, because they show EVERYTHING), so I missed this until I heard it in someone's reaction/review... NICK FURY ACTUALLY SAYS "BLACK GIRL MAGIC!" in this? As in, it's an actual line this character utters in this film and it's not a dream, a Skrull playing Nick Fury or some kind of similar nonsense?

Yeah, it's in the trailer even.

Don't understand why it appear that critics "suddenly" realise MCU movies are actually pretty bad in general. Outside of VFX quality, I seriously don't see how MCU movies are much better when they were in Phase 1, 2 or 3 but critics or some cynics trying hard to prove Phase 4 or 5 is a step down.

I disagree your middling Age of Ultron would beat most Phase 4 films in quality.

At least the film had cool action and likeable characters

"she TORE A HOLE IN SPACE"

"There's a different reality leading into ours."

Worse than the Suicide Squad lines?

It's not a racist remark if a black person says it.

It is a step down though. Even if you go back and watch the low points of those phases like Dark World or Age of Ultron, Quantomania makes those films look like Citizen Kane. There's no doubt fatigue from the glut of content but Marvel has also been putting out some of its worst stuff ever in these most recent phases.

Quantumania is just special like that. In my opinion, Thor Love and Thunder is still more enjoyable than Dark World. It's like someone just said earlier.

The worst a movie can be is boring.

And Dark World is the epitome of boring CBM
Quantumania only takes the cake for worst MCU movie imo because I find it actively offensive. Like my eyes fell bad watching it. The writing is grating at times. Exhausting even.

I love it so much. It's little things like this that have me seeing this movie as something different. Like, based on the trailers, this film just seems to have a sensibility to it that we haven't seen in the MCU and reminds me of more niche media I enjoy.
(the cats too, of course)

Pre-endgame the MCU did feel like it had a coherent vision with more competent writing in general, now it just feels like they're throwing shit against a wall.

Age of Ultron is one of those movies that came out when I was personally in my "Popular films are bad and dumb because most people are stupid" phase as a teenager, so I wrote it off. But I actually like it now. And It's really important because it's literally the only film where we see the Avengers hanging out like friends. Practically the foundation for hundreds of thousands of fanfics.

The shit started hitting the fan after Civil War. But also, had they not started going big, MCU fatigue would have begun much sooner.

This downfall was inevitable. I'm just surprised it happened this year and not pre-Endgame.

From the little I've seen there seems to be a focus on the chemistry between the characters, with the two lesser known ones dragging Carol up to their level as well.

Anyway, can't wait to watch The Killer on Friday

If u can I fully recommend seeing The Killer in theaters

If it's not playing near you, watch it loud. The Sound design is impeccable
