Victoria is a basket case. This all stems from the Victorian State Government fucking up 14 day Hotel Quarantine for international arrivals. Instead of using the Police and Army for security like every other state they used untrained for the purpose private security guards.

An actor for a president?!? Please tell me you're kidding

Ronald Reagan Quote GIF by Top 100 Movie Quotes of All Time

Thing is Reagan was an actor but he ran for President 3 times and was Governor of California for 8 years which is like running one of the top ten countries in the world.

So by the time he was President he had a million times more experience about Government then Trump did.

It is a shame that by the time he was President, he had forgotten his own name.  :whosad:

Anyway, the better actor/California governor has a message of hope today:

“Not. A. Record.”

In New York when they reached that level, the state was already in "lockdown" for 2 weeks and the curve was about to be reversed. But in Florida... as expected shutting down bars isn't nearly enough.

Good article from Dr. Sanjay Gupta on what he would say if the US was a human patient.

In short, you felt too good, too soon and stopped taking your antibiotics early and now the illness has come raging back. You have one more chance to take the medicine before there is nothing left in the little black bag and only major surgery will be enough.

Also, article from Washington Post where they ask Dr. Fauci and 5 other disease experts how they are handling various activities in this current world.

The scary thing for any inside based business (like movies) is that not a single one of the 6 will do anything that is inside based (ie. none of the 6 will eat inside at a restaurant for instance), so how do you plan on making movies work?

They talked about getting haircuts. A couple have people come to their house. One says they will go to a salon/barber as long as there is no more than 1 person waiting in the building and everyone is wearing a mask at all times. None of them wash their groceries, though a couple leave them alone for a day and all of them wash their hands after they take their groceries.

As far as masks, most of them wear them if they are inside any building other than their own house. Some wear them religiously outside, others only wear them outside if they can't keep socially distanced. None will go into another person's house. Any get together is outside, socially distanced. No sharing of food (community bowls). None would even consider going to a gym.

Ohhh yeah, the record is coming soon. They’re only like 200 short today, the only way for FL to miss is if CA takes I first. But then they might trade it back and forth for a bit.

They won’t cancel the opening because of Disneyland. They would if Universal and SeaWorld decide to close again.

When the stories about people cathcing Covid at Disneyworld make headlines..as they will...Disney will do a 180.

De Santis can't see beyond kissing the butt of Trump and kissing the butt of big business.

I can’t fathom how a company as business savvy as Disney can still be pushing through with the WDW reopening plans given the state of Florida. Even if they don’t care about safety, it doesn’t even make sense from a business perspective. They are relying on locals to fuel business right now, and WDW runs on tourism. Not even mentioning how they set themselves up to be massacred in the media if an outbreak happens at the parks with the cases being so high right now. There would be no way for them to spin it to make themselves look good, their stock and image would dive hard.

My position is they were equally unqualified, but yeah I do have to admit that Reagan at least had the experience of being a governor. Plus, he was actually interested in governing, not just golfing and grifting as Trump is.

It's more contagious and weaker.

As the virus mutates to spread caster it weakens each time. This and our ability to better effectively treat it indicates why death rates plummeted despite test case count spiking.

We will see slight increases j think in death count, perhaps back up 50% after the 20 day lag period ends.

Does it though?

These things aren't necessarily linked. There's also stuff that spreads fast and is extremely deadly, though in most cases they tend to be too deadly even for their high speed of spreading. Mutations that make a virus spread more easily don't need to have an impact on how dangerous it is.
