TMP
Margot Robbie in the new O Russell film seems like it could happen. Maybe McDormand for the new Anderson or Nomadland too.
Ipickthiswhiterose
Anya Taylor-Joy is comfortably operating at Awards level in Emma. She's even better in it than her promise indicates that she would be. Not a chance though presumably since it's out in the UK in February so unless it's waiting an age to release in the US it's just not happening. Bill Nighy is Best Supp Actor worthy in it as well.

It's out in the U.S. next weekend in NY/LA before expanding wide the following weekend.
lorddemaxus
For noms Id say Ronan, Armas, and Robbie are getting in for Ammonite, Blonde, and Amsterdam. Could see McDormand get in too.

filmlover
Elisabeth Moss is so good in The Invisible Man. Hopefully Universal gives her a push around awards season so that she at least has a chance at being this year's random SAG nomination.

RealLyre
don't have a prediction for a winner yet so won't rank them but I could see those 5 getting nominated Kate Winslet, Ammonite (NEON) Amy Adams, Hillbilly Elegy (Netflix) Rashida Jones, On The Rocks (Apple) Viola Davis, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Netflix) Meryl Streep, The Prom (Netflix) this many streaming movies probably won't happen but oh well. alternate: Jessie Buckley in Charlie Kaufman's film (if she's lead/co-lead), Emily Blunt in AQPII or Wild Mountain Thyme, and lastly Hudson might pull a Renée Zellweger if her film is good. films I think were getting nominated here before the delays Ana de Armas, Blonde Frances McDormand, Nomadland Marion Cotillard, Annette

Never saw the play but I know it's about a girl who is banned from bringing her girlfriend to her prom and gets help from four stage veterans (the Streep/Kidman/Corden/Rannells characters). Maybe they'll fraud her in Lead at the Globes and that's it.

RealLyre
with Winslet out I think Frances McDormand - Nomadland Viola Davis - Ma Rainey's Black Bottom Andre Day - The United States vs. Billie Holiday Jennifer Hudson - Respect Amy Adams - Hillbilly Elegy alt: Michelle Pfeiffer - French Exit Vanessa Kirby - Pieces of Woman/The World To Come
SLAM!
I think Carey Mulligan will have more of a chance to be nominated for Promising Young Woman than some may think. This is because Focus Features will pinpoint her as the specific Best Actress contender they campaign for. I'm not saying she'll be nominated for sure--I'm saying don't be surprised if she gains serious traction.

filmlover
If the field becomes really competitive Winslet could easily miss given what a nonstarter the movie is looking to be. Think Ronan's not happening in Supporting at this point unless a bunch of contenders drop like flies. lorddemaxus
Replace Winslet with Kirby.
Joel M
Viola in the fat suit looks very silly but if the movie gets decent reviews it's ovahh.
RealLyre
Hudson is out. the Oscars delay look really silly right now, either the film is a dud or they want it to make money in theaters.
