Watched Certified Copy and whoa, what a mindfuck of a film. There's probably a lot I missed (that's mostly because there's so much contained within the film) but its amazing to see a movie that works so well on both a meta-level about art and the film itself and also as a geniune movie about love and marriage. Reminds me so much of my two favourite films ever, Before Sunset and Synecdoche NY (like Kiarostami mixed elements from both and I'd even say that the movie purposefully copies elements from Before Sunset and the Before trilogy in general).

Definitely making somewhere in between 20-30th spot in my top 100 of 2010s list. I can see it go higher with a rewatch but I'm most likely not watching it again before the deadline.

Kiarostami's next film Like Someone in Love is very much worth seeing as well. Different from Certified Copy in a lot of ways and much more divisive, but I'm a fan.

I've had that on my watchlist for sometime too (along with Close-Up). I would have watched it sooner if it was on criterion channel but it isn't (which is kind of odd considering that the service has many Kiarostami films, including Certified Copy, on there) so I'll probably rent it on amazon and try watching it next weekend.

Another great movie today. Maybe it was because of my incredibly low expectations but Creed hit me in a way I didn't expect at all. Was tearing up a lot more than I thought I would (the scene with the bikers and the final match espescially). Also going pretty high on my list. I've never been keen on watching boxing or sports movies in general (I also loved Million Dollar Baby but that was more because of its subversion of boxing movies) but I guess I'm gonna watch the other Rocky movies now.

it's my 2nd fav Coogler after Fruitvale Station, the sequel is also p good even if it lacks Coogler's intense direction.

I love you.

As for the ranking thing, that's what the tiers are for! Particularly for relieving the headache as much as possible when it comes to the bottom 50. So you can still shuffle things around before the deadline if you're so inclined. If not, 'sall good.

Didn't know others have Drug War on their list. Saw it yesterday (first Johnnie To film). Contains two of the best shootout scenes ever and it was way more brutal than I expected. Also had some really nice criticism of the Chinese police force. I'm watching Don't Go Breaking My Heart (completely different kind of film but I loved it too) today and watching and Romancing in the Air tomorrow, both from Johnnie To.
