Regal jumped on the bandwagon not to show universal movies either. Honestly I'd be ok if Universal goes bankrupt. Let that be a lesson when you try to destroy cinema.

 

Let's do virtual theme parks too virtual restaurants, virtual vacation. The last one really sucks, I can attest the last 2 months.

I highly doubt that a company owned by Comcast would be in danger of going bankrupt from something like this.

I love the Forbes article that says what about people who like Netflix. Boohoo watch that instead. It's a 90 day period, titantic ran for like 9 months in theaters.

 

It points to COVID as AMC being unreasonable. Universal didn't say release straight to void until theaters open at fully capacity it said going forward. Trying to unilaterally change the paradigm when you're not even close to Disney's success is just stupid. I don't want University Studios to fail but firing him would be good.

It may not have been tracking great a few months ago, but that kind of movie would have been perfect for when theaters start re-opening.  An animated movie with no competition for months, and they jumped the gun throwing it out on demand.  Might well have been a nice little hit for WB, and eased families back in to the moviegoing sphere.

This is going to make back its production budget in one week. Trolls 2 made 100 mil in 3 weeks, this should make 100 mil in a week (must be easier too since it has to only sell 4 million units to make 100 mil). They'll also likely add this to HBO Max in July or August.
