My Hero Academia - One For All 

Animation/Superhero - dir. Peter Ramsey

 

A PG-13 adaptation of the anime which tell the story of Izuku Midoriya (David Manzouz), a superpower less boy in Japan, in a world where over 90% of the population carries quirks or superpowers. However, legendary hero All-Might (Jon Hamm) takes Izuku under his wing and gives him his power of One For All, an inherited quirk passed on from person to person, as Izuku aims to attend UA, the most famous and best school for super powered individuals, but Izuku finds out that potentially a greater plot is at play.

When an overworked mother takes her four American children to Barbados during Cropover Season, a giant festival akin to Mardi Gras, for the first time in order to rediscover their culture as well as take a breather. However as the children stay, they soon discover that they are being stalked by the mythical murderer; Heartman, who torments and kills naughty children and rips out their hearts for food.

However, a headstrong leader of a tribe (Chadwick Boseman) who has fallen ill, must escort his passive son (Evan Alex) hundred of miles after a tragedy causes their tribe to shatter, as the two battle mutated animals, dangerous storms, and insane scavengers as the leader must teach his son what it means to be an adult.

The sequel to Y5’s Squirrel Girl takes place a year after the first, where an overwhelmed and exhausted Dana (Taissa Farmiga) is struggling to come to turns with her new powers as her best friend Squirrel Girl (Anna Kendrick) tries her best to help. However, the Squirrel Squad soon finds themselves whisked across dimensions after Dana’s powers go wrong to the musical paradise of Harmony ruled by Queen Divinity (Renee Elise Goldberg) where it seems Dana has a greater legacy than thought of and a villainous entity, The Dealmaker (Michael C Hall) seems to have a devious plan set up.

 

The Phoenix Saga: Book 1 - Might and Magic

Fantasy/Sci-fi/Action - Ava DuVernay 

 

In an alternate universe about 100 years in the future where humanity is technological advanced and at war with magical creatures. At 21. Zora (Kiersey Clemons) is already a high ranking member of a human army against the magical creatures, having slain numerous with her best friend Trish (Emma MacKay) but during a fateful encounter, Zora discovers she is the descendant of a legendary sorcerer dubbed The Phoenix who acted as a peacekeeper between the two who mysteriously vanished. Zora spins finds herself on the opposing side trying to unite both sides as well as harness her magical abilities, while human Commander Joe Thrawl (Daniel Radcliffe) sends Trish to bring in her friend as he works on creating a machine to wipe out all magic that can have world-ending consequences.
