I can't wait for this movie.  I'm a little worried about how Naomi Ackie will look like because she doesn't resemble Whitney at all.  But she's a great actress so I guess we will see...

 

Also the title of the thread needs to be corrected because the director has changed and it's now Kasi Lemmons.

I’m the one guy that really liked Harriet; I mean, I’m not going around saying it’s the best film ever made, but honestly, I think it’s a terrific film. I’m hoping this is at least as good as Harriet!

The trailer will finally be released this Thursday according to cast member Patty Jackson and administrator of estate Pat Houston!  I guess it will be alongside The Woman King which is also by Sony/TriStar.

 

I am not too convinced about Naomi Ackie playing Whitney Houston because even though she looks nice she's nowhere near as beautiful as Whitney, but I hope that the trailer will be great and that they can pull it off. 🙏

This is taking a page from BR. If it ends with a concert like BR it's going to blow the lid off the boxoffice. Should be huge either way but those concert scenes are epic and most fitting for a rousing ending.

This looks pretty standard biopic stuff (song on radio for the first time etc) but I cannot wait.

Curious to know what you mean? I believe you and expect this to be terrible (will still make a fortune though), but what exactly were their "lies" before?
