Congrats to @cookie for his #1 Film, and Congrats to @Blankments for his successful win in the Great Guessing Game

You each win a pre-read of a future film of mine for Year 8. Not all films of mine for Year 8 will be available for pre-read, you will choose from a list I will set forth below. Choose whatever film from the list you want. You are allowed to pick the same film if you so choose.

The available films for pre-reading are:

Mass Effect: Revelation (Sci-Fi/Action) (dir. Olatunde Osunsanmi)

Premise: Several months after the events of Mass Effect: Ascension, Shepard (Mackenzie Davis) and the crew of the Normandy are ordered to the agricultural colony of Eden Prime to safeguard a once-in-a-lifetime scientific discovery at an archaeological dig site. When their mission is interrupted by an assault from a long-reclusive race of sentient machines, Shepard and her colleagues are plunged into a new investigation that involves betrayal from those trusted to keep the galaxy safe, and ultimately leads to a secret that could spell grave disaster for all life in the galaxy.

Where? - (Animated Mystery/Adventure) (dir. Don Hall & Chris Williams)

Premise: That audacious art thief Carmen Sandiego is at it again! After her latest escapade is her most public and high-profile yet, and leads to rumors of her heists funding a truly terrible weapon of doom, ACME Detective Agency decides it must seek outside help to bring her in, and seeks out a man who can disappear in a crowd, a man who can go anywhere in the world and know how to fit in, a man who knows Carmen better than anyone.

A man named Waldo.

Here Nor There (Sci-Fi/Drama) (dir. Deborah Chow)

Premise: Kayla (Clara Rugaard) is an employee for the Federal Communications Commission. Anthony (Trevor Jackson) is an employee of the Department of Homeland Security. Both of them have independently discovered a strange radio signal that defies encryption and tracking protocols. A signal that seems to have been covered up by higher-ups in the government. Their parallel investigations lead them to one another, but more importantly to a far more shocking revelation:

That the world they each live in, is not the world the other does. And someone else knows, and intends to do something about it.

World of Trouble (Dystopian Drama) (dir. Jason Bateman)

Premise: In the final days before the impact of the asteroid named Maia, Hank Palace (Ansel Elgort) takes on one final case: To find his sister Nico (Kaitlyn Dever), before the end.

The Bronx is Burning (Historical Sports Drama) (dir. Martin Scorsese)

Premise: New York City, 1977. The New York Yankees are reeling from a high-profile playoff loss, and manager Billy Martin (Bobby Cannavale) is on a very short leash. To spark the team's fortunes, high-profile and big-ego baseball star Reggie Jackson (Michael B. Jordan) is signed to the team. Reggie's hostile relationship with Billy and the rest of the team threatens to throw the Yankees into chaos as the city around them goes through one of its most impactful years in its history.

Now we'll also get a sprinkling of some awards here and there for random things. These awards will recognize at least 5 entries, presented in alphabetical order. None of my films are eligible for awards unless it's something like the Best Good Boy/Girl award.

Spoiler

Imparta admits there has been a lot of fear in Korugar recently and things have become difficult with the Red Lanterns, but also notes the fear darker skinned Korugarians have felt, and wants to insist she is on everyone’s side as she has found shocking and saddening images, as she frames Sinestro and the Green Lanterns as traitors by using fear monger tactics and video evidence that Sinestro allowed Rathauer to die, cut off fingers of recuperating citizens, broke out the “terrorist protesters”, stole evidence he had no access to and seemingly killed Benoz, their most beloved scientist. Imparta states that the Green Lanterns are no longer their allies but she can take on the Red Lanterns by herself, and promises by noon tomorrow, they will all be safe, and is throwing a huge party on Founder’s Beach, which for those with eagle eyes is clearly near the desalination plant.

Spoiler

“Since the dawn of the first Elf, there has been but one recurring threat… not of trolls, sirens, demons, crows or woofs…. but of giants.”

“These creatures will not rest until the world is their playground to burn. I’m afraid that what you’ve seen today is only a preview of what is yet to come.”

“The giants have begun to ally with even bigger giants. This creature, tall as the mountain itself, wouldn’t just be a threat to the Elven kind, but to all creatures of the forest.”

“I’m going to declare a state of emergency. I ask that all powers be transferred over to me until this crisis has been resolved… whenever that may be.”

Molgren - Hilda and the Midnight Giant

She monologues, telling Grace that when they were younger she hated Grace, and hated that she was interested in Delphin and was afraid that Delphin might be interested back. She bitterly tells Grace she was too pretty and nice and sweet, and that Alida wanted her to catch the Fever if only for a few weeks, just to have her out of the way.
