The Batman | March 4, 2022 | Warner Bros. | Certified Fresh on RT | 7th Most Profitable Movie of 2023

Let's forget about Spider-Man: No Way Home for one second. . .

The biggest opening weekend of the last two years is $90.03 mln (Venom 2), the biggest domestic is $224.5 mln (Shang-Chi), and the biggest overseas for Warner Bros. is $367.3 mln (Godzilla vs. Kong). Everything bigger than mentioned numbers will be a huge win for The Batman - 3hours reboot released during the global pandemic & made for very reasenable production budget ($110-160 mln). I think $100 mln OW, $250 mln DOM and $600 mln WW is the floor, but I'm hoping for another +$750 mln grosser.

So, @EmpireCityjust implied in the tracking thread that this has a slim chance of moving to July or something. Take this with a mountain's worth of salt since even they think it's a very slim chance. It's most likely too late to delay it anyway, but No Time to Die, Quiet Place 2 and Mulan were all pulled at the last second so it's not completely impossible.

Hopefully this doesn't happen for exhibition's sake. Otherwise they might have to close again sometime after Uncharted until Sonic 2.

Why would they move it now? It has no competition right now.

Agree with No Man's Land, but would not mind a take on Ra's Al Ghul which might be closer to the original.

Yeah, Ra's Al Ghul has never been really faithfully adapted to the screen, Lazarus Pit and all

EmpireCity was bored imo...

Batman won't be delayed.

The media - social and public - train is in full swing. The film is a month away. Spider-man just exploded. Why would this move ?

After a less-than-stellar 2021 and Omicron not exploding anymore (for now), they have no reason to move this.

I've gotten bullish on this movie, $1 bil is happening

I no longer believe $1B is guaranteed, but circumstances are becoming more and more favorable for this movie.

- The marketing campaign is now in full-effect

- It has virtually zero major competition in March

- Omicron is leveling off (somewhat)

To be fair, Omicron already have some sub-variants even more easy to spread and it's growing fast in countries where the peak already passed.

But still, at this point what they expect? This will never end, people refuse to vaccine and take precautions, they just have to accept their movies will be released in this environment, and for big movies seems like audience doesn't care going to a theater so whatever, just enjoy the whole month without competition.
