My favorite Bergman after Persona is Smiles of a Summer Night, almost certainly his least "Bergman" movie. It's funny, sexy and wise and I can't recommend it enough.

Too bad, I saw all kind of prank/spoof of this scene before watching the actual movie.

 

In the actual viewing, I can't no longer trust any subtitle they put out there in this scene.

I am not a fan of the donkey movie but as far as Bresson goes I do recommend Diary of a Country Priest (particularly to all fans of First Reformed) and A Man Escaped (to anyone interested in a spartan, minimalist take on a prison-break movie). Those are both his best and most accessible imo.
