I’m curious why he pulled this now on this particular project? Then again if he had on Eternals, that…would’ve backfired on him super hard to say the least.

Yeah this was bottom of the hype list for me but the Christmas theme and style look neat, and importantly will make it a nice "hit" (as well as we can define one for these D+ shows). Perfect timing to distract from Eternals reception.

Same. I don't imagine it will pass Loki or WandaVision for me but it won't be too difficult to pass TF/TWS.

Pretty easy shot to the yearly top 4 (with WV SC and Eternals) if execution remains decent throughout. Could even make #1, bar is not turning out to be insanely high or anything.

I liked FATWS more than the other 2 despite it being lower in initial hype for me. For the shows, WhatIf is actually my bar, and I actually expect Hawkeye will surpass it. SC/Eternals are tougher and I expect Hawkeye will land below those in my 2021 list.

I didn't realize until now that Renner had two streaming shows out this month (or that his other show was basically the flop version of Mare of Easttown with a similar title to boot). Here's hoping this works out much better since that's getting lousy reviews right now.

The more I see the more I'm excited for this show. 

 

I've been a bit mixed on the MCU Disney+ shows with WandaVision being the clear standout for me but both FATWS and Loki have regressed in my liking the more I've thought about those shows

What If was fun enough but not enough to stand out.

From trailer views I'd say more hype than what if and FWS at minimum. Unless you mean personal hype or before trailer hype.

Nahhh, Hawkeye is an OG Avenger, will have more hype from that alone. Trailer performed very well too, people like the Christmas theme.

I guess it'll do fine? God knows the Marvelites who weren't impressed with Eternals will get the security blanket of the familiar MCU trappings.

Hawkeye as a straight man works surprisingly well. It does remind me of a very similar scene or promo in FATWS, though I think the vibe here works a bit better.

My hype for this is considerable because Hailee Steinfeld is an absolutely amazing actress and isn't just popular because she's famous to begin with. It's a secret that everybody who watched both TRUE GRIT and THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN are in on.

Looking at the RT score, 84% doesn't seem too bad until you realize it's the lowest Marvel Studios series so far. I'm hoping this doesn't become a trend.
