I enjoyed this. Much more enjoyable than the Jovovich ones

agreed. the milla movies are generic action movies, no atmosphere or darkness like this one

This isn’t out here until Friday, but I’ll be going on Friday night.

You wouldn’t know it was opening here in the UK, btw. Absolutely nothing for it, not even digital/social media ads.

Classic case of a film being dumped.

Guess they decided after the film's lackluster US showing, that it was not going to do any business, period, and decided to cut their losses and not add to the red ink by spening any real money marketing it.

Annoyed by how much was excluded due to them condensing the first 3 games into one movie (Lisa is reduced to just a creepy girl, no Mr X, no giant animals, and the entirety of RE 3 is non-existent), but this was a fun straight to DVD Carpenter riff with shit that made the RE fan in me go "fuck yeah".

According to the director this movie only adapts the first 2 games, that is probably why the story of RE3 is non-existent.

feel like it would have been smarter to do either just RE1, or do RE2/3 rather than 1/2, especially since RE2 and 3 happen at the same time in the same locations

RE 2 and 3 happen at around the same time. But this movie has RE 1 and RE 2 happening around the same time instead. And they can't do RE 3 anymore because

Spoiler

Jill escapes Racoon City and Racoon City is destroyed

I went to see this tonight. I was entertained throughout and it’s better than any of the previous films. The smaller scale worked.

But Jill and Leon are write-off’s. Nothing about them works. Kaya is usually so good but it was as if this was her first time on screen lol. Robbie’s shirtless scene is blurred, what’s that about.

It was cheesy and a bit repetitive/cliche/cheap.

2.5/5
